Edit: After a while of using these cups I've noticed a few things. 1) The straws only leak if you over fill the cups (any baby straw cup will do this). And yes, as with any baby straw cup, the liquid can travel and stay in the straw. It's OK and the child can still drink from it. So you know, stop over-filling them and that problem will probably stop. There are lines printed on the cup, use those as a guide. 2) You can purchase replacement straws for these cups! Hurrah! Now there is no need to buy a whole new cup when your child chews through the straws. Thanks Dr. Browns! 3) Yea I don't know what some of you are doing that you're getting mold in your plastic cups. I've never had any mold issues with any of my plastic kids cups. I hand wash everything using the cleaning straws. These are pretty good little cups so far. The weighted straw stays in the liquid and it seems easy for my baby to drink from. We only use these for water so I'm not sure how they would do for other sugared drinks. They are easy to clean if you use the included brush. Don't forget you can sterilize the cup and components in a pot of boiling water for at least 5 minutes. Do not put the weighted ball part in water though (according to directions). I washed and sterilized mine and they are fine. I will update later as we use them.

my daughter was holding her bottle at 4 mos, so when we transitioned, the first thing i liked about this product was that you could remove the "arms". I couldn't say it's completely leak proof- the remaining liquid in the straw will "leak" out if tipped over. but other than that, if you hold upside down, it will not leak any liquid from the cup and it has the protective cap that slides to cover the straw when not in use. it is easy to clean, but like classic dr brown a pain for some people because of the parts. you have to take it apart and clean with that fun mini brush! honestly I don't mind, but it deters people. my daughter preferred this over the other version that you have you hold up to the mouth. she had more control with the amount of liquid she was allowing and prevents gas bubbles. Overall happy with this product!

It's great! My daughter loves it. We skipped over regular sippy cups all together and started with straw cups and open cups. This was so helpful for her. It leaks a tiny bit when upside down but nothing major, like a couple drops. It's easy enough to hold that my 6 month old can hold it herself. And it's easy to clean especially compared to other Dr Brown's items. Great cup and great brand. Highly recommend.

our son is a picky tot - he took to these fast and easily. i will note, it does leak from the top at the spout especially if you refrigerate the cups so we stopped doing that. great quality and holds up against tot slams/throws!

UPDATE: I had to update my review because, while this is a good first cup for smaller babies, it's not great for older ones. My daughter is now one and struggles with the suction (or lack thereof) of the straw. I noticed she doesn't get much water and then would get frustrated and throw the cup. She always tries to drink from my Stanley instead. I took a sip from her cup myself and it's extremely hard to get any water through the straw, you have to suck insanely hard. This was good while it lasted (it's pretty leak-proof), but not the right cup for my daughter anymore. I purchased this for my daughter as her first drinking cup when she was around 9 months old. It did not take her long at all to figure it out and to drink water from it. It's the first and only one we've used, and I'm very happy with it! I've ordered three so far. It's easy to put together, okay to clean (it's not amazing cleaning the tiny straw, but it does come with a little brush), and it's almost completely leak-free. A little bit of water comes out sometimes, but my daughter does throw it pretty hard down on the floor from her highchair and likes to bang it on tables. It takes a while to dry, so I do put it in our sanitizer which also dries things. I'd be wary about mold if the parts stayed wet for too long, but have not experienced that yet. It's held up well so far and it's great that she can drink from it laying down if she wants. I think that will come in handy when we wean her off bottles and she exclusively uses cups. A great cup all around, I definitely recommend! If you're on the fence, just give it a try! Luckily they're pretty inexpensive.

Obsessed with these cups for my 12 month old. He is able to suck from a Stanley cup straw from learning how to use this one.

I have one of every color! My baby loves these. He figured it out the first try and has loved them ever since!

Me llego en tiempo y tal como lo describe el vendedor. El popote es perfecto y suave para que el bebé aprenda a succionar sin riesgo de que pueda lastimar sus encias. No es pesado. Incluye un pequeño cepillo para hacer la limpieza del popote. En mi experiencia vale la pena adquirirlo y el precio es totalmente accesible a comparación del famoso vaso del oso, estos vasitos no le piden nada y son de mejor calidad.

Adquirí uno en tiendas departamentales y ese es el precio de una pieza solamente, mi bebé toma agua perfectamente, no hay derrames, no pasan los restos de alimentos, resiste caidas, este par de vasos son una joya!!
