Great traction on a dust-free surface
Love this shoe. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it gave me a blister on the back of my left foot/heel area. The neck of the upper only affected my left foot like this. Otherwise, they're great, especially for volleyball. Also, you can definitely feel they are padded but they don't give you a sense of instability because of the padding if that makes sense. You can land very comfortably after a jump while also having great side to side stability and traction.I am normally a 13/14. 13 in dress shoes and some brand of athletic shoes, 14 in Nike shoes. I decided to go with the 14 on these shoes. A 13.5 would have been better (in this and the Nikes), but that is just not available at these large sizes.I used to play in Nike Hyperdunk 2011s, and I didn't really have any complaints but some people said I could get better traction with these. That is indeed very true, but only if the playing surface is clean. Also, my Hyperdunks had become very worn, so I'm not sure about new Hyperdunks vs new Wave Lightning RX. Hyperdunks come in high tops or low tops, so it's really up to you how to play. I don't regret my Mizuno purchase one bit.

Not my favorite Mizuno, but still a very good shoe
I've had these shoes for a season now. Overall I'm happy with them. My only gripe is that the tongue wants to slide to the outside of my foot even though it's laced correctly in the shoe. I did not have this problem with the previous Wave Lightning 7s. But the cushion and support are otherwise very good. I can play day tournaments and not be too sore. Other shoes used to leave my feet pretty trashed at the end of long play. At some point the wimpy insoles will wear out. If the uppers are still in good shape, I'll swap them out with the Orange Superfeet insoles to extend their life a bit. The only downside to that is the factory insoles have tiny pinholes in them to vent through the bottom of the shoe and you won't be able to take advantage of that with aftermarket insoles. These are not as durable as Miznuno's all leather upper shoe (Tornado), but the venting provided by the mesh construction and the light weight are just too good to pass up.

Awesome shoe, slippery heel for me
I will start by saying that this is a very good volleyball shoe. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit me at the heel the way it should. I have a small amount of slipping (I tested them fairly hard). I feel like the material of the heel is too slippery. Another factor is that I wear orthopedic inserts, which raise the heel ever so slightly compared to the regular insole. The fit is inferior to my wave tornado 3's it seems, which didn't slip noticeably. But if they fit you right, they're light, with great grip, good breath-ability, and very comfortable. They're also some of the best looking shoes I've seen in a while. They could do without the red dynamotion writing in the inside face of the shoes, but that's very small. So, in summary, these shoes look great, are comfortable, grip wonderfully, seem to breathe well, but just didn't fit the way I wanted. If you have orthopedic inserts, I would get a different pair of mizunos, or a more high topped shoe possibly. Good luck shopping!

Great Support and Comfort
These volleyball shoes provide terrific cushion and support. I noticed that my legs were not as sore after playing several games with these shoes compared to other volleyball shoes I have. The shoes are light weight and provide 'breathability' as the bottom/sole has perforations that allow air to flow at the bottom of the shoe--a nice feature especially if your feet sweat a lot! The shoes are a bit pricey compared to other volleyball shoes, but the comfort and additional features make them worth the extra cost. The shoes run about a half-size to a full size smaller than other shoes so order one size up--that's the primary reason why I gave these shoes 4 stars vs. 5.

They have great grip and are incredibly light and offer excellent support
In most respects these shows are exactly what I expected from a Mizuno volleyball shoe. They have great grip and are incredibly light and offer excellent support. I haven't worn them at an all day tournament, but for the two hours that I play pick-up ball they are comfortable. My only issue thus far is even with an insole replacement that's designed for sports, the bottom of my feet get a bit sore. Maybe I need better insole replacements. Don't know. Otherwise, though, for the price these are great shoes.

Awesome Shoe
The sizing charts I have seen for Mizuno are WAY off. The charts suggest you should buy a Mizuno 1-2 sizes smaller than your normal shoe size. I wear a 13 in most shoes, but bought a 12 1/2 based on reviews and charts I read. I had to return them and get the 13, which fit perfectly. Amazon paid for the return shipment and got the new shoes quickly. Amazon is always awesome. The shoes are great for volleyball, esp on wooden surfaces. On the plastic tile surfaces, they are better than other shoes I've seen, but slip a little.

The best shoe I ever had
I have received these shoe just before my trip to Egypt, did not have a chance in a gym.I puth them on immediatelly and noticed that 1/2 size larger would be much much better. My mistake.Anyway to make sure how they fit I took them on my trip and comfortably survived long flight from NY to Cairo. Each day I wore them only in the hotel and on the tour to Pyramids on the horse ride around them.Shoes survived the test and yesterday finally played the vball in the gym for the first time. They worked great so far.

Really Good for B-ball
I primarily use these for basketball, and they are great. I find volleyball and basketball to be similar in sport in the sense that both sports require lateral movement and jumping. These shoes provide good traction, and superb cushioning on the court, the only reason i am giving it 4 stars is because they don't make them in "high-tops"
