Monster Girl Encyclopedia Vol. 1

I have to be honest, I’ve never played monster girl quest and did not realise how adult this book would be going in. I scanned the description on amazon and only noticed the part that said it was a must buy for Monster Musume fans. Can’t say I was disappointed in the slightest. The book starts with an in character introduction from the wandering scholar, then you get a list of contents and after that is an amazingly comprehensive list of monsters and surrounding lore. There are pages of pure text scattered throughout to explain in detail anything that was mentioned in the various monster’s descriptions and information such as explaining manner, essence, why they are all girls and so much more. The meat of the book is of course the monsters themselves. On the left hand page you get a beautiful piece of art of what that monster may look like with a few little stats about their personality, habitat, diet and what species/type of monster they are. On the right hand page is a very in depth explanation of what they are, how they function in monster and human society, how they can change and how they mate. Depending on the monster you may also get some advice sprinkled in on how to beat/deal with or escape from said monster. More often than not you’ll also get a smaller manga type drawing of the monster. This can show you how they might look at a different age or after changing form but is usually a picture of part of their mating process. Some being more graphic than others. I read this curious and excited to see what the next monster would be as there are so many different kinds and most I wouldn’t have been able to think of. It’s a great read, whether you want it for the appealing monsters or just the genuinely interesting information. It’s roughly 232 pages long and packed full. I highly recommend it, just don’t let anyone see you reading it.

Like many other reviewers, I had no idea what I was getting into with this - it was more of a curious buy. What I got was lewder, more detailed and interesting then I thought it would be - so all around excellent! This is an encyclopedia (duh) of hundreds of different 'monster girls' that the author has encountered. It includes a lovely full colour picture of the vast majority of these, and usually a supporting thumbnail of them 'in action' black and white. Apart from the pictures, each monster has an almost full page description of their characteristics, 'feeding' patterns, power levels and far more. Its all written 'in character' and wonderfully detailed. I admire the writer who manages to keep each monster fresh and different! I fully intend to get the second book at a later stage. For the price, this is a lovely hardback, with great pictures and great descriptions that will fire the imagination and amuse the senses. Also a great joke present 'probably' for your partner or anime hating friend, who thinks anime is all about T&A. Highly recommended present to request from parents, that would be hilarious. Either way, a winner.

This is a colored hardback book full of arousingly detailed monster girls with descriptions of each race and where to find them. Definitely a good, interesting read.

A really good read, with big in depth descriptions of each character and the law of the world, which lead you to get immersed within it. (Nice artwork to, please know that it has lewd themes)

I love it plenty to read plenty to see its just what we need for great Role Players like me I will get the second and regardless of how many volumes there will be I will get them hee hee

A great read, really interesting characters

So, first off this book was way nicer presented than I though it would be, proper heavyweight hardback. Essentially a collection of nicely drawn pictures of said monster girls of all shapes and sizes, with some surprisingly detailed descriptions to go with, mostly of mating habits. There's some lewd sketches too, though some are so lewd I slightly wonder why none of the main artworks don't have nudity lol. The rather detailed story and world building bits about monsters becoming nymphomaniac girls is ridiculous, but fun (although you just have to assume bows and other long range weapons aren't a thing).

The book is very nice

I love these books but the "for mature monster girl fans only!" does not clearly explain what you'll be seeing. There are pornographic illustrations and there are loli monster girls (female characters with a childlike appearance) which some are also performing sexual acts. If you can look past this then the books are great if you are looking for ideas for drawing or writing stories or creating concept art with the insane amount of information in this book or you want to read some interesting details about monster girls. The books (bought vol.1 and 2) came in a small box and the books themselves were wrapped in plastic and undamaged. Vol.1 is great after taking a quick look through it and reading some of the pages to see how much was actually here. It is very detailed as near the front the book goes into talking about how these monster girl have come into existence. The detailed part though contains things like their nature, diet, reproduction, values, and relationships. Even a couple pages about the transformation of a human to monster with details on the process, physical effects, mental effects, rationale and the process of transformation in general. Also a brief section about a couple of terms that'll be brought up throughout the book "Essence & Mana". The table of contents shows there is a large number of monster girls in this book and each monster girl has a full body illustration on the left page identical to the style on the cover and back of the book. The right page is dedicated to talking about the monster girl. Most of the monster girls have a second illustration on the right page with the description showing the monster girl either displaying her nude body or performing a sexual act. These images are in greyscale while the full body illustration is in colour.

This sturdy hardcover volume is an excellent primer for the Monster Girl Encyclopedia universe. Some fans may have come across this from other franchises with similar archetypes such as the Monster Musume or My Life as a Centaur series. While there are marked similarities, Monster Girl Encyclopedia takes a much more sexually explicit approach towards presenting the concept of Monster Girls as undeniable male fan-service. The series beginning as a sequence of drawings with various monster girls and synopsis spawned an original Author Universe (AU) that has seen numerous fan projects such as RPGs, Fan-art, and Fan Fiction pop up. This is the definitive source guide from the original author that collects many of the Monster Girl entries (about 100) into a very comprehensive guide. The translation quality of this guide is excellent and the volume not only details the intricacies and specific information of each Monster Girl type, but also provides descriptive information about the universe and world in which they inhabit. It gives you a fascinating look at not just the physical characteristics and behavior of the monster girls but expands on the role they inhabit in the world itself. The art is gorgeous and consistent, with each Monster Girl given a very distinct look yet the art maintains the same style throughout. There are characters that cute, creepy, sexy, and unique. The main art for the girls tends to be very suggestive and it's fan service is rather high but never outright explicit. Make no mistake however, this book is completely adult oriented and contains a high degree of sexual content. Most of the monster girl entries include a smaller rough-sketch style image showing the monster girl engaging in their preferred method of "Essence extraction" which is a not-so-subtle innuendo the book uses to describe sexual congress with human males. In fact the universe the book describes is innately sexual with the entire concept of Monster Girls being that monsters have changed from the once evil flesh-eating murdering monstrosities of the past to their current forms under the guidance of their new Overlord (A succubus) to be ravenously sensual beings whose primary driving need is sex. The premise while initially preposterous is actually well grounded in the text, and everything works within that premise making it a fun AU to explore. I would highly suggest this book to monster girl lovers who have an appreciation of the perverse. It is an excellent guide to enjoy purely for it's own lore and art, but also as an excellent tool and inspiration for those who enjoy roleplay, as well as the production of fan works.

Eins vorab. Englische Sprachkenntnisse sollten vorhanden sein sonst wird man mit dem Buch nicht glücklich. ---- Story ---- Kann so ein Buch eigentlich eine Story haben? Ja diese ist vorhanden, wenn auch ziemlich simpel. Der böse Overlord wurde von einer ober Succubus ersetzt was dazu führte, dass alle Monster sich in weibliche Monstergirls verwandelt haben und der, nennen wir ihn mal Lehrling, aus dessen Sicht dieses Buch geschrieben ist versucht eine Enzyklopädie über alle Monstergirls zu schreiben. ---- Zum Buch ---- Die Enzyklopädie ist mit einem Hardcover versehen und die Seiten haben einen braun-grauen "Alte Buch Look", was ziemlich edel aussieht.. Die einzelnen Monstergirls (auch einige die ich noch nicht kannte) wurden hier wirklich sehr detailreich Beschrieben. Man erfährt viele Hintergrundinfos und bei einigen gibt es auch Bilder dazu. Diese sind nicht für Leser unter 16 Jahren geeignet. ---- Fazit ---- Ein muss für jeden Monstergirl Fan. Die Story kann man vernachlässigen aber dafür lohnen sich die detailreichen Texte und Bilder.

je voulais ce livre depuis si longtemps , j'ai enfin craqué malgré le prix un peu élevé , aucun problème sinon sa taille , je m'attendais un format A4 au minimum cependant il fait 215mm x 155mm :'( mais il est étonnant complet et agrémenté de beaucoup d'illustrations
