Mom recently was put on a salt-restrictive diet. Due to Murphy's Law, I haven't yet been able to make any of the recipes for Mom. However, she cannot wait until I can prepare them for her. It's likely we'll enjoy them, also, as they are healthy, and set aside a serving or two for Mom.

Small cookbook - not a lot of recipes
The recipes look basically like recipes anyone with a cookbook would already have with "low sodium chicken broth " or can of "no salt added tomatoes" substituted for regular ingredients. This is what I have been doing anyway to cut down on salt - just substituting reduced sodium ingredients where possible. I didn't find any new ideas in this cookbook. It does list the nutritional information for each recipe which is very nice.

Great recipes to try with my slow cooker!
Dash Diet Slow Cooker Recipes is such a great book. I recently started to learn how to use my slow cooker and am always on the look out for new recipes. I have like eating in the style of the dash food diet, so learning to make recipes that are part of the dash diet is great! The recipes are easy to make, very tasty and this book is so easy to read. Its a must read for anyone wanting to go on the Dash Diet and still enjoy great tasting food made with their slow cookers!

Yum yum yum!
I've been looking for a diet recipe book that focuses on low sodium levels, and I think I've found a real winner here! The Dash Diet is another trend, but if it works, who cares! I'm having a great time going through these delicious dishes and I can already start to feel the pounds dropping. Great value!
