These little Old Wisconsin Beef Sausage Snack Sticks, Naturally Smoked, Ready to Eat have a great taste. But, if you fry them in the pan a little, the flavor intensifies, and they taste delicious ! If you are canning them, you need to know that all that great taste and flavor kind of disappears. Also, they taste better when eaten by themselves versus included as an ingredient in a dish. IF the manufacturer would drop the CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, SODIUM NITRATE and DEXTROSE from the ingredients these small sausages would deserve a 5+ star review. What's the real reason for adding these three ingredients ?

Came fresh and as described. I personally didn't care for the flavor. But others appeared to like the flavor

It has a bit of a bitter taste which I liked at first, but now have mixed feelings on (have my taste simply changed ?), the meat is a bit on the mushy side and strange: I like and dislike this at the same time, it's a good value for the money and keeps for a long time in the container, in the fridge.
