So there I was, wandering through Trader Joe’s, minding my own business, when it happened. I spotted the Barebells Vegan Protein Bar - Hazelnut & Nougat. “Oh, another protein bar,” I thought, completely jaded by countless chalky disappointments. But curiosity (and hunger) got the best of me. One bite in, and I blacked out. When I came to, I was clutching the wrapper with tears in my eyes, whispering, “Where have you been all my life?” This thing didn’t taste vegan—it tasted like someone melted a hazelnut dream into a bar and said, “Here, have muscles and dessert.” I did what any rational person would do: I returned to Trader Joe’s the next day and hoarded boxes like I was preparing for the vegan protein apocalypse. But even that wasn’t enough. The fear of running out was real, so I did what any unhinged snack lover would do—I ordered a stockpile from Amazon. Boxes arrived at my doorstep like hazelnut-filled care packages sent by the snack gods. Now, I’m swimming in bars like Scrooge McDuck, and I sleep better at night knowing I’ll never run out. Trader Joe’s employees recognize me, my Amazon delivery driver is concerned, but I have no regrets. 10/10, would panic-buy again. If loving Barebells is wrong, I don’t want to be right.

I’ve been eating these more frequently because they are so tasty and filling. I have especially enjoyed the plant based hazelnut since I can’t do dairy or gluten. However, I could not figure out why my stomach has so upset…until I was about to reorder and I noticed the warning about a ‘laxative effect’ from the sugar alcohols in tiny print. Come on. Can’t we find something else to use other than Malitol? Never buying again.

It was a no for me, the Misfits - caramel fudge bars are so much better . These barbells were dry it reminded me of when chocolate expires

I love this brand because the cookies and cream bar has a milky way texture but this one is not nearly as good. This flavor is chalky and tastes like most protein bars on the market. It's not the same consistency as the non vegan flavors.
