These were great to have for the Elf on A Shelf deal. They left messages on them every morning. Several different colors to write with and it just wipes right off. You can write on both sides.

It states in the de chalk board, not slatescription that they are for Learning of Handwriting without tears, but they are synthetic not slate so the wet part of wet/dry/try doesn't work, therefor the dry part doesn't work, and even the try part is very light
