YES! Exactly what I wanted!
First of all, yes, it works just like it says. THE BUILD: The fact the there is nothing like this on the market at a comparable price point made me nervous. I figured good electronics, crappy cart OR decent cart, crappy electronics. I WAS WRONG. The quality of build is outstanding. The more I mess with it, the more I respect their engineering decisions. The welds are solid, the materials are light and strong. The design prevents you from overextending the wires and protects the sensors as well as their alignment. The plastic tightening knobs and folding clip are clearly high quality and heavy duty. The straps that hold the bag are durable, easily adjustable and functional. These smart engineers also made the parts easily interchangeable and provided simple and easy to follow how-to videos for replacing these if things get worn out. The remote is ultra light and you do not even feel it clipped to your pants. The button layout is well thought out and the follow button that you need the most is huge and right in the middle, no need to see the controller. THE FUN PART: Playing with it :) First round I went in the heat of the day to the cheap muni in town in hopes to play by myself and get acquainted with it. Paired up with 3 dudes that all birdied the first hole. Needless to say I was forced to play fast and efficiently with it. I used remote mode for the first few holes just to keep up pace of play. In remote mode it is easy to drive, easy to steer, minimum button pressing as it holds a line really well. This is important because you absolutely have to be comfortable using remote mode around the greens and between tees. Finally got some honors around hole 6 and figured I would give the follow mode a try. Beautiful! Instantly worth every penny. Walking down the course thinking about my next shot and enjoying the breeze on my face. That being said, using follow mode (like anything new) requires a learning curve. As I approached my ball I stopped and turned to grab a club and the cart jerked backward and sideways before I realized that I should have hit the stop or follow button before I turned back away. As a physics teacher I understand the benefits and limitations of both EM and Mechanical waves (which caddytrek uses for communication between remote and cart) so I understand why the order of operations instructions are so specific with this unit and why the cart jerking was a result of my mistake. Within a couple holes it was second nature to reach back and hit the button as I was stopping near my ball. 2nd round I played with it was second nature to use in ALL modes and made my game so much more enjoyable. Usually by whole 16 I am huffing and puffing pushing my cart to the uphill tee box. I was fresh, with water left in my Yeti on the 17th tee both of the rounds I have used this cart. ACCESSORIES Scorecard holder- Cool as hell. The shape of the mount is generic so you can also use some accessories from some other companies. (i.e. ball holders, item bags etc.) Cell Phone Holder - Works great for my iPhone with decent sized case Drink Holder - Nice insulated inside, nice material (should be white). CaddyBelt - See CUSTOMER SERVICE below Umbrella Holder - Did not work for me. I read and watched a ton of reviews about this cart that all say that the holder was great. I found the holder on amazon sold separately and the reviews are not good. I replaced it with this product and so far it is very strong: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHY6LWXH?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Recommended - Got these for my rangefinder. One on both sides of cart. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4V7QBTP?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 CUSTOMER SERVICE All reviews of the customer service I read were stellar and I found the exact same thing. My package did not include the caddybelt accessory and when I contacted FTR they shipped one out the same day. THE BAD (so you know they didn't pay me) I wouldn't consider any of this bad but maybe things you should be aware of before buying. There is a learning curve. I walked for several years before ever riding in cart. Learning where to park the cart so that you walk less, understanding 90 degree rules and etiquette between driver and passenger knowing when to take your wedges and putter or have your partner do it... is not as complicated as I'm making it sound, but it does take a round or two to figure it out if you've never done it before. If you are not willing to learn and have a little patience than there is not a "follow" cart on the market for you. Either read the manual or watch the videos (PREFERABLY BOTH). FTR provides such good information for potential issues. The course I play is between 2 car dealerships, 2 cell phone towers, and a freeway. There is 1 hole (16) that provides a lot of interference. On hole 16, I was frustrated that follow mode wasn't working correctly for a couple minutes before I realized what was happening. You can either change frequency or go to remote mode. Went to remote mode, problem solved. Follow mode working great again on next hole. 2nd time I played it started acting weird on the same hole, learned from previous time go to remote mode, problem solved, working great on next hole, no time lost. If I hadn't read about potential interference in the manual or seen that video I would have been much more frustrated. Know where the STOP button is. Anything weird happening, hit STOP. SUMMARY I would buy this again and again! Thank you FTR for making something so awesome at such a fair price point! I will be playing more golf than I used to and will be enjoying it more.

Not worth the price- HEAVY AND FOLLOW ME is not great. 20% restocking fee to return it
Heavy and the follow me mode isn’t that easy. I don’t think this is one that should be considered - the idea of it was nice, but overall it’s heavy and I was told by the company / manufacturer that it needs to be on stable solid surface. Most golf courses have some hills, bumps and grassy terrain which defeats the purpose. To return it- you have to pay the 20% restocking fee! That’s $300 bucks so if I can save anyone some trouble- I would test out these models at a golf pro shop (from other brands) and see if this is actually worth it.

So far so good.
I have played about 10 rounds with this buggy and so far I love it. Was close to getting a kangaroo hillcrest when I found the carrytrek buggy. Most walkers at my club use the kangaroo and some have been in service for 15+ years. Took a chance on the Caddytrek as I did not like having to work the remote constantly and the weight of the kangaroo meant I would pretty much be leaving it at the club and would not have access at my other clubs when traveling. So far so good on my decision to go with the Caddytrek Pros 1. Follow feature. Love that you really don't need to think about your clubs. Quick push of a button when you stop to take a shot, approach a green or bunker and you are good to go. Buggy will follow you slightly to the left and 2-3 paces behind. Bridges and paths are are easy to navigate. Basically any place you can take an electric cart you can navigate without thinking about the buggy. Just walk on right side of path or bridge and all is good. 2. Size and weight. Folds small enough and is light enough to carry in the trunk of my car. Not something I could have done with the kangaroo. Tip..remember to pull the battery before folding else you will need to unfold to attach to the charger. 3. Battery longevity and power. Easily lasts 18 holes. Climbs steep hills and brakes going down steep hills nicely. 4. If price is an issue, the Caddytrek is $1000 less than the Kangaroo. Cons 1. I have had it slip climbing a steep hill when it is wet. Walking slightly slower up the hill seemed to resolve this problem. 2. The 5th wheel is critical for use. Don't forget to extend it our you will tip over the buggy. 3. The screw holding the 2 part 5th wheel assemble together failed on first use. Glad I did not loose the spring that is part of this. I recommend replacing this with a longer screw before your first round. No problems since replacing. 4. You don't save a lot of steps with the follow feature. Pretty much need to think of it as a push cart walk to the best place to leave it when teeing off or putting. 5. Controlling as a remote cart as opposed to following takes too much time. Not a fault of the buggy. But.. A pain once you are spoiled by the follow feature. 1 follow feature is fantastic. Follows me across bridge without thinking about it as long as it is wide enough to accommodate a riding cart. Follows slightly left of where you are walking and about 3 paces behind..

Very maneuverable with the remote, I love it
I love this caddy! I have used an electric caddy for many years but gave up walking because of a bad knee. When I started playing on a flat, short course I decided to try walking again, but pushing a cart proved to be too much, but with this I am able to manage 9 holes. It is much better than my old cart though I had to get used to the fact that there were no controls on the cart itself so the only way to control it was to use the remote. It is also difficult to redirect it manually and actually impossible if the cart is moving as it redirects itself to the original direction. When stopped, you can change the direction it is heading by holding the direction button on the remote, so when I come to the tee, I point it in the right direction so that after I hit, I just need to push the forward button a few times to get it to catch up to me as I walk immediately straight ahead. I tried a few times to use the follow and march modes, but I now use it always in remote control mode as this is what I am used to and what I would always use near the tee and green, and I found switching to the other modes quite awkward. I was amazed at how well I was able to control the cart even going downhill. When I exit the course after the ninth hole, it is downhill through a rather narrow path, onto a sidewalk which creates a T junction and almost immediately another turn in the path, and I am able to maneuver the car through this. I was quite amazed! I am also impressed with how solidly built this cart is and, after a short time learning how to open and fold it for putting in the trunk, how easily and quickly this can be done. The battery is quite light, very light compared to my old gel one. The cart itself is quite heavy though I am able to lift it with one hand and put it in the trunk without hurting my back (I am over 80 years old). I have a small sedan but there is plenty of room for this and my clubs.

Outstanding Golf Cart
I walked my first time with the cart today. It performed excellently in all modes. I purposely did the side hills and sloes and the cart was on track and did not move down the hills. The follow mode was my favorite and the cart stayed behind me and stopped when I did. The caddy trek is fast, reliable and well worth the money I paid for it. Looking forward to the next round.

Not ready for Prime Time
I've waited a long time to write this review hoping the unit would start behaving properly. No Dice. Tech support is quick to respond but can't fix the issue. The radio control feature where you hold the controller and the cart rolls in front of you works fine. But I bought it for the Follow Me feature and it just doesn't work. Maybe on a flat Florida course it will perform as designed but I live in Vermont which is called the Green Mountain State for a reason. Any slope or bumpy terrain causes the cart to act haywire or just stop. The video I've posted was shot on three consecutive holes. I've made sure the sensors are aimed correctly and no obstructions like towels are covering them. The controller on my belt has an unimpeded view of the cart. I paid a lot to have the Follow Me feature and it flat out doesn't work. I'm very disappointed. The unit is sturdily built and needs to be as it tips over at least once a round. Another major annoyance manifested itself within a week of purchase. The factory hadn't tightened down the tiny screws in the attached photo and they all fell out. A third grader's hands are too small to get in there. It took me two hours with needle nosed pliers to line everything up and reinstall them. The concept behind the cart is well conceived but it does not perform as I need it to.

Follow Mode Won't Stay Engaged,
This Caddy Trek is nice. I haven't had a chance to use it on the golf course yet but using it in my yard the RC works great, but the follow mode will not stay engaged. Every time it connects in follow mode it immediately switches back to standby. So until this gets fixed it's three stars Update: Okay I'm updating to five stars, thanks to MaxStrata LLC and Ramos over at Caddy Trek (they both got back to me within an hour of posting my question) we worked out the problem which was really no problem just my stupidity I guess. It turned out I didn't have the Caddy belt plugged in all the was which caused it to not stay in Follow Mode. Once that was worked out everything was working just fine. I did play a round of golf and the follow mode and the RC worked great, however, the Caddy Trek gets hung up on loose gravel cart paths but on the fairway's it works great no problems. So yes, I do recommend this product. Another Update: I have this item just over a year (past warrenty) and I played many rounds of golf in 2021 with it. A couple things happened last year, one , the sealed bearing in the front castor wheel seized causing the bolt holding it in to back out which in turn the wheel rubbed down the inside of the fork making it unusable. I sent pictures of the problem to the support team at Caddytrek and the quickly sent me a new wheel and fork. In case the bearings seized again I looked up the serial number and found it online and bought ten of them. They are very easy to replace and the sealed bearing were inexpensive. The other problem happen on the course. The battery completely died. I called the support team again and they were very helpful. They told me to send the whole unit back to Vegas, (FYI: SAVE THE SHIPPING BOX). It turns out it was a defective battery. I had the unit back within a week. Very Good. Now its 2022 started playing in early April. Everything was fine until the follow mode stopped working. It would follow for 10 to 20 feet then stop and it would not reconnect to the unit. The remote setting worked fine but no matter what I did the follow mode would work for a short distance stop and not reconnect. Again called support very helpful sent the unit back to Vegas and was told they could not replicate the problem. Okay, maybe it was me. Got the unit back and nope I have the same problem , follow mode does not work. Bought a new remote thinking that would work. Nope. I bought this specifically for the follow mode. I really liked this product and the support team is fantastic but it's not performing as advertised so I'm gonna have to down grade to 3 stars. I should add that I just purchased the Stewart Q-Follow and I am having issues with that trolley. I wrote a review on there web site and apparently they only post 5 star ratings

Everything i was hoping for!!!
So a quick review , i have now played 4 rounds with the CaddyTrek and i couldn't be happier. So i got it home and was going to charge it up as it said 6 to 8 hours first charge but it was already fully charge both the remote and the Caddy battery. So i unfolded it, still not a pro at that and was ripping it around my back yard on remote, then i used the follow and there that was my training, it was very easy. Got out on the golf course and learned it follows you great on grass, so you walking down the fairway its following you perfectly, just remember it needs line of site from the remote to the cart so your shirt needs to be tucked in, it's gets erratic when it loses that line of site. Once you get to the green you hit the stop button and there it sits waiting it's next command. I love walking up to the green and when we are done everyone goes to get thier carts and i just steer mine on remote around the green to the next hole where it sits and waits for me to get there. Not sure why you can use it on remote and it can go along long way in front of you but yet you block the line of site on follow 2 feet away from you and it doesn't work..Anyways love this thing, not sure if i like golfing better or just walking hands free down the golf course while things thing is following me..Anyways if you can afford it, (i was borderline) it's will be worth it!!

I am a happy buyer. No regrets
I really adore using this wonderfull machine. It does exactly what it's suppose to do, let me play golf without the stress of pushing a pull cart but with the pleasure of walking. The only negative is the fifth wheel fell off and I lost the screw on my 6th game and it's been off since. Can you help me about that? But otherwise, I am a happy buyer. No regrets.

Caddytrek R2 Robotic does not work
The follow me mode does not work neither does the "marching mode". Called the factory who advised it was probably the sensors at fault. They sent new ones which took an hour to install, and still the same problem. The steering oversteers then swings back making it difficult to control when in RC mode. We have ended up with a very expensive cart that does not work as advertised.
