Overall: This is the thinnest puck screen I've used. It's nearly paper thin. It does the job with evening out the water distribution into the portafilter. This puck screen does look really good though. It feels smooth too. You have to be extra careful not to damage this one. Quality: Super thin. Feels more fragile than your standard metal pick screen. You'd need to be more careful handling this so that it doesn't get damaged. You cannot feel the holes on this one. The craftsmanship itself is good but by nature of how thin it is, you just gotta be careful. Performance: Works to evenly distribute the water. I haven't noticed a major difference between this puck screen versus the thicker Normcore puck screen. My espresso tastes better with using this versus not. Cleaning: Super easy to clean. I run it under drinking water and wipe dry. It does add a step to my espresso process though. Pros: Looks good Distributes water evenly Easy to clean Cons: Feels like it can be easily damaged

So, I have quickly become a fan of Normcore's espresso accessories. They are well crafted, high quality, and designed and made with the end user in mind. This screen is no different. I loved it. I have a La Pavoni Millennium Edition from 2002 and I have acquired several of Normcore's products to use with it. The screen is super thin. At first I thought this maybe a disadvantage. But, I love how easy it is to clean and seems just as effective a screen as my two other, much thicker ones. Additionally, it seemed like it was 51mm exactly and my PF is approx 51.3mm, so this screen looked like it was going to be slightly too small. However, it worked just as good as my 51.2mm one from what I could tell. I would buy this again and in fact anticipate getting the same one for my other espresso machine and PF at 58mm.

This Normcore 51mm Ultra-Slim 0.2 mm Puck Screen is incredibly thin compared to other puckscreens I have tried. The machining is impeccable and despite the thinness, the screen feels relatively sturdy and durable for a fine piece of equipment. I like that I don't have to sacrifice 2 grams of coffee in order to fit a thick puckscreen (which I've had to do with my previous one). This Normcore screen seems to cut down on the crema from my espresso, but my drink also tastes smoother. Overall, this makes for a tasty cup.

So I expected this to be thin but I was surprised at just how thin. This puck screen allowed me to fit juuust enough grounds in my portafilter to hit 18g and get a perfect pull every time. It's easy to clean and works like just about every other puck screen I've tried. You can also probably dry this a bit easier than some puck screens. My only gripe is that it could probably be closer to 51mm wide as to not leave a gap, but its not too bad.

__This screen allows water to pass and keeps your machine 'head' cleaner between cups, and potentially reduces the formation of channels as the water brews thru the basket. I cannot speak to the channel formation as that has not been a problem for my machine. I can comment on the cleanliness issue, where it is quite effective. __The screen is quite dark in color. Perhaps the shine on the surface makes it seem lighter in photos. It works for the purpose and can be rinsed to clean it. __I am concerned someone might not see it when the coffee grinds are removed from the basket--it is pretty dark. The risk of it not being seen would be that it could be discarded with the grounds. A modicum of care would preclude that.

This is a great puck screen. It does two things - less tangibly, it evens out the distribution of water, making a nicer cup of espresso (in theory). The nicer feature is that it keeps the shower head of my espresso machine free of coffee grounds, making cleanup quicker and easier.

Made my DeLonghi even better. Evenly distributed the water and the pucks look more like they should after brewing. Should have bought one sooner.
