These sauces are quite flavorful. Both the original and the St. Augustine are quite mild compared to some common brands. This is a great hot sauce for making dipping sauces and the like as the heat is mild and not overwhelming for people who are not used to the big heat of other boutique brands.

This has a different flavor than any other hot sauce I’ve tried, and I love it. The St. Augustine Style is sweeter but both are good. I’m not into super hot stuff, I’m more concerned with flavor. I love sauces like Frank’s, Louisiana, or Krystal and this one is just slightly hotter than those, more in line with Tabasco. My husband likes super hot stuff (he’s the type to waltz into a hot sauce store, sign a waiver, and amaze the people behind the counter when he walks away unscathed) and he liked the flavor too. He likes habaneros and felt this sauce had less heat. This is great on chicken and my husband liked it on eggs. The original was good on pizza, I didn’t try the St. Augustine style only because I like my pizza more savory than sweet, but for those who like a sweet tomato sauce this would do well. It’s worth the money to try and see if you like the flavor since it’s different than anything I’ve had before.
