Sometimes you need to cook at someone's house where they don't have basic supplies? Me too. Got this primarily for seasoning cast iron skillets without contaminating wife's cooking shortening. These take up less room. Also can use them while traveling to places you need to cook like church or relatives & have what you need to grease a cakepan or whatever. Convenient item that lasts a long time until you need it.

This makes my homemade cookies not too crunchy or chewy; the texture right in the middle, so none of my family and friends complain about my recipe! A little tip though: don’t use Crisco butter flavored shortening when making Crisco chocolate chip cookies, or your cookie dough will start melting, and then you’ll have to work faster to get your cookies on the sheets and into your oven.

This product is just like I remember as a kid growing up in the 60’s. I wanted to make an old family recipe that called for crisco and butter just would not have the same results. I remover when this product came to market as convenience over the rather large bucket as my family called it. Back then it had a fitted container to store the open log to keep it fresh. I was able to get the texture I needed for my baked goods with no after taste. I am happy that I tried this product all these years later and it still can produce the results I was looking for.

Used this to make icing in hot and humid weather. Brilliant! Kept the cake outside for 1 hour in Singapore. No drips, perfect! Note, I did not use any butter, just Crisco, icing sugar, a bit of water and a bit of vanilla. My sprinkles also stayed put, no colour run.
