perfect kettle for camping
I used this kettle recently for a multi-day camping trip that included a music festival. I took a chance on this even though i already had a conventional kettle. As it turns out, this ALOCs kettle is much more efficient than my other kettle. The 1.4L size holds enough water for two large mugs and heated up super-quickly on my Coleman camping stove, which puts out 10k BTUs. In just a few minutes, the water boiled. The other kettle which has a lot more volume, took a lot longer. The design has pleasing aesthetics and is smallish and lightweight. It's much smaller than my other kettle which will be retired. The price was very reasonable. The 1.43l size has a small footprint and was the right size for me. Backpacking minimalists trying to shave weight and size may want to go with a smaller size for solo trips, but for 2-person camping, I wouldn't want any less capacity. this hits a sweet spot of size, weight, capacity, functionality and price point. The build quality seems good and should be durable. My other kettle was stainless steel which is a heavier metal, but the aluminum ALOCS seems rugged enough for its intended use. There are only two minor nitpicks: The lid does not snap on and can get dislodged when pouring. (ALOCS should fix this in future iterations.) And, it doesn't whistle when it reaches boiling. I can live with both of these things, considering the tradeoffs: lighter, smnaller, more efficient.

Works well
Originally I was looking for the specific sprit stove and stand this set comes with. But for the same price others brands charge for the stove and stand alone this also includes the kettle. That was a deal! The ALOCS is a great alcohol stove. I only wish I knew how to pronounce "ALOCS". A -locks, A- lacks, what? Even better than the spirt burner is the stove stand. It holds the kettle or pot a little higher above the stove then other stands. This puts it in the more efficient heat zone. I didn't thing I would use the kettle much because i rarely drink tea, but I was wrong. It is very efficient, quickly boiling water. I still have yet to use it for tea. But I have made several cups of Mexican chocolate and numerous bowls of oatmeal with it. Is is perfect for heating water for freeze dried and dehydrated meals! It is the perfect size for one person. Small and light enough to throw in the pack.

Holds water heats well
Light weight holds water easy to pour. Lid is a bit loose but not a big deal if you use the mesh bag it came in to transport the pot. It seems to get rid of any rattling.

Good quality, one minor flaw/consideration
Nice size kettle I’m using for camping. One thing to consider is that the lid does not stay put if you tilt the kettle high enough to get the last bit of water out.

Works perfectly!
I bought this to take to a music festival and used it with a portable stove. This was only to boil water so that I could use it for a pour-over coffee filter and ramen. It's lightweight and boils quickly. And it packs into my tote easily, since the handle folds.

Great little kettle
I got this for a camping trip. I like a cup of coffee in the morning and needed something to boil water in for the pour over coffee. This works great. Handle does not get hot. I keep one finger on the lid so it doesn't fall off. It boils enough water for 3 cups of coffee. It is small and lightweight. So, it will most likely go backpacking with me too! Great kettle for the price!

Easy to use and handles cool easily
Does exactly what its made for. Took this camping and used this over a fire pit and over a camp stove. It heats up fast over the camp stove but needs to be put over the center of a fire with the wood embers to heat up to boiling when using the pit. The handle stays warm but not hot on the stove but is extremely hot over the fire. I used a stick to remove it and it cooled within 5 min to be able to hold. Holds enough for a cup of tea and a cup o noodle. Good for 2 people but if you're camping with a group, it would be best if you got a bigger one or at least two, especially if you don't have a camp stove. Solid 3 stars, would recommend to some but not all. If the lid stayed on a little bit more snug I would have bumped it up to 4. The lid is quite loose so when I would use a stick to remove it from the fire, there was always a chance I would bump it. Tip: use the water quickly. Because its so thin the water cools pretty fast.

The pot looks gorgeous ! But very small compared to the pic ! It’s around 1.3 liters , I should have guessed it
