This product is no different than Harmony, in the sense that you have to take the time to learn and understand your devices. Depending on what you are trying to do, it can take some time to configure the remote to control for all the devices you are trying to control. The only problem I had was that the server was down for a day when I opened the box to set it up. I sent an email to support, and they responded in less than 24 hours, letting me know that the server was down for a while. Compared to the Harmony, X1 took me a little more time to configure five devices (TV, sound bar, bluray player, DVD/VHS player, and an Apple TV), but I now have more capabilities controlling the Apple TV; the only thing missing is Siri (mic). My Harmony, which was almost 10 years old, was not that friendly with new devices and only had three buttons for activities. With X1, I was able to configure all five devices to work together and was able to create 9 activities so that I can go directly to certain streaming services after turning on all the devices. I had some trouble with the Bose Solo TV Speaker, but I figured out that I had to make the hub repeat the signal one more time. The firmware upgrade for the hub only took a 5-6 minutes. The response time of the command is actually better than Harmony also. It took me about five hours to learn and configure; some things by trial and error and experiments, but I am very happy with the remote. Once configured, it works well and consistently.

I did return as this did not work for my specific application. Programming is definitely not for the novice, and patience is definitely required. Basic functions were as expected. It was when macro and other programming that compatibility issues and troubleshooting over and over again was not only frustrating but lead to the return of the item. Pricing is definitely higher than desired but, if unit actually would do everything needed - could be worth every penny.

Most of the time it just works flawlessly, then randomly (I'd say once a month) it will just completely lose connection to the hub and you need to restart the hub and remote then it works again, idk why just what mine does, maybe I got a dud?

I'm pretty computer savvy. And I've owned Logitech remotes since the beginning. I decided to give the X1 a try to see if it was worth migrating as I update my TV/Audio equipment. I tried it a few times with little success. Today I decided to spend as much time as I needed to get it to work. I failed. 4 hours, besides the warmup attempts, and nothing. An absolute nightmare. What a waste of time. Sony TV won't turn on. Apple TV doesn't work. The Marantz AV did work. And I looked at a lot of videos in advance. Haven't decided if I will give it another shot or just call it a day and send the thing back. It remains a mystery to me, as 1000's of others, why Harmony bailed on the remote businesss. They had the market and the stuff worked - unlike this pitiful attempt.

I have 8 devices in my entertainment cabinet (TV, receiver, Blue Ray player, DVD burner, Fire TV stick, Apple TV, Roku, VCR). This remote controls it all flawlessly. All eight of my device remotes are in a box in the closet! The initial setup of the SofaBaton remote was fairly simple, The basic setup is very easy, there were a couple of minor confusing issues, but nothing too difficult. The online videos and the SofaBaton support agents were super helpful. I didn't rate the voice recognition of this remote because I don't use it. Just a personal preference. FYI: I purchased this to replace a Logitech Harmony Hub remote and this remote is an excelent replacement.
