The Omnikey 3121 is a high performance USB smart card reader for desktop use that features multiple base mounting options and a robust casing. It is compliant with all industry standards and compatible with most contact chip smart cards, most major operating systems and a variety of applcations. It now eliminates the need to install drivers drivers with it's new aviator chip that uses native CCID drivers within the operating system. The Omnikey 3121 is easy to install featuring USB connectivity and is typically suited to use in digital signature applications or online banking as welll as many other appllcaitons.

It works for my NHS organisation
I started my job with a large hospital last week, who shall remain nameless, as it can reasonably be most hospitals I have ever worked in. In the usual NHS manner, my induction consisted of ensuring I can de-escalate an angry patient that may or may not be at risk of becoming a terrorist, whilst correctly identifying which fire extinguisher to use. However absolutely zero training on how to use the IT - the very thing that would actually allow me to do my job safely.I then had the ultimate NHS gift of starting my shift a day after induction with no IT training. The final gem was to find that no one had thought of remote access either. In order to avoid waiting the standard unknown and unnecessarily prolonged NHS length of time for someone, somewhere, anywhere, to request a card reader, I decided I valued my professional membership (and sanity) too much so I ordered one at my own expense via prime same day delivery. Lo and beyond, a working card reader, exactly as described, arrived on the same day.My other half was bemused to hear me praising Amazon for taking my money and blessing me with a device that allows me to work countless unpaid extra hours at home. All I’m saying is, I’ll win the lottery before I get my NHS card reader.

A must for card downloads
Bought it to download my digi tacho cardInstalled straight away and was compatible with my tachograph software

Good value and worked well
I bought this to download my Tacho Card and load details to Tachomaster. It worked fine. Cheap to buy - but it doesn't feel or look nasty.I would give it 5 stars - but that option is "I Love It".. Perhaps I'm just a cold fish - but I don't love it. LOL.There's nothing wrong with it.

Didn’t work for me
Supposed to be plug and plat. Tried to get my NHS card working with it, nothing happened. Disappointed.

Handy piece of kit
I use this to keep track of my tachograph downloading it to my pc then using 3rd party software to read it great

Great stuff
This card reader is awesome. I bought one, slightly cheaper, which was driving my nuts. I couldn't understand why my software can't sign the document. So I 've decided to buy another card reader, which was this. Hassle free installation and easy use made my day. I would strongly recommend this product if you don't want to pay twice.

Perfect for those GP NHS smart cards! Great product. Cable nice and long so can be wired into the car... brought for car pc during home visits.
