I bought a lovely new coat from Monsoon which looked waterproof (i.e. it was a thick, winter, shiny coat with a hood). In actual fact it was like a sponge and I got soaked through and weighted 2 stone heavier when it rained. As I had had it a while I decided to look into waterproofing and bought these products. I washed with the first and then washed with the second. When it came out and dried, I put it under the running tap and the water just ran off like it was a table! I was so impressed! It is still breathable too apparently. I was worried about the chemicals but after looking at their website it seems that this product is one of the safest forms of waterproofing. It appears all waterproofed clothing uses varying degrees of chemicals. My coat was a shiny thin nylon (padded with something) and had a fur hood. All materials responded well to the treatment. I think it lost a bit of its shine. But that was no big deal. After waterproofing this coat I wanted to waterproof everything like a superhero! I did my handbag too! I think it's a fab product. Saved me the cost of a new coat! I would definitely recommend.

These products are very good, I use them all the time to reproof our jackets. We both spend a lot of time outdoors regardless of the weather with our horsey events and walking our dog. Very easy to use, better results if used as a pair. This is possibly not the cheapest size to buy, but easier to store.

I thought that washing Gortex ruined the material but when using these products it makes it as good as new. Therefore prolongs the life of Gortex products.
