I'll start with the one flaw: Like somebody else mentioned, a picture of the product shows that the main cable hooking it up to the computer is removable at both ends, But it's not; so if it ever breaks you have to throw the whole product out. That doesn't seem fair because the description does not match what you get... see photos. That said, had I known initially (if they showed it properly) I would still have bought it at the price and been happy. A lot of similar units have problems where the USB ports are in strange places, or the switches are very small touch switches, sometimes no indicator lights other than the switch itself, or maybe it does not have the ability to plug in external power... This unit has all that! Large indicator lights that clearly show when a particular port is on, fairly large rocker switches that are easy to use directly above each light and port, and all the ports are neatly lined up on 1 side; yes some units have more than 7 ports, but to my way of thinking 7 is more than enough for most PC setups! (It was only that my particular PC skimped on the USB ports on the very top of the case and put most of them hard to access on the back.) The main connection USB plug and cable they give you is possibly too short for some people, but it is long enough to plug in the back of a PC and stretch all the way to the front, or mount on an adjacent desk; that's good enough for me. Lastly, while they don't actually provide the power supply, they give you a standard jack on the corner where you can plug an external power supply if your PC cannot provide enough for all the things you plug in; I don't need it right now, but I purchased this unit in part because it had that availability for the future... For completeness I will add that some reviewers claimed it did not work with their PC at all; I did not personally have that problem. Normally I would have given it five stars; the last star was taken off either for their lack of honesty of the description and photos, or More generously , for their lack of properly updating the description...

This little device solved so many connectivity and access problems, it is unreal. It works so well that I made sure all of my staff got 1.

Seemed to be great and meet my needs. But I had a Amazfit charger plugged into it, and it was bumped into a metal slider on my desk, which apparently shorted the whole thing out (not just the port of the hub it was in). The lights on it went out when it touched the metal and came back up when I removed it. But now none of the hub ports work. I will probably buy a replacement because I think it's still a decent value for the price. **Edit to 5 stars. My mistake caused the USB cluster on my PC to fry. The hub is fine and I was able to move it to a new USB port on another cluster.**

As described, works perfectly. Acts like a normal usb3 hub except you have the option to turn off ports. Normally, you wouldn't have the occasion to do this but there are a couple of situations. One would be where your computer doesn't recognize an input device unless you disconnect it and then reconnect it. Much better to turn the port on and off with this hub. Another would be, when you are not using an external power supply, where you need to remove devices temporarily to reduce power draw from the computer usb3 port (max 900 ma). Of course, I always like to use powered hubs. This hub supports, but does not supply, an external 5V power supply. The only issue is that due to lack of space, the hub power port requires a 3.5mm x 1.35 male input jack. This is not the most common (which is 5.5mm x 2.1mm). If you want to use a common 5V wall wart (2A-3A), need a little 5.5mm x 2.1mm female to 3.5mm x 1.35mm male converter plug (which are available here on Amazon and handy to have around)
