Best rod I own now.
Paired this rod with a Sougayilang xy1000 reel. Excellent casting action. Line flies out the eyes super smooth. Rod feels light and good in my hand, very well balanced. I will definitely be looking at picking up a few more of these rods, good price and excellent quality. I'll be using this setup for trout fishing in lakes and streams, throwing jigs, lures and bubble fly. I'll give this rod a trial run next month and let you know how things work out.

Highly recommend
I’m really loving this rod! I’ve only had it for about 2 months but have caught maybe 5 or 6 largemouth bass in it and around 30 striped bass from the pier. I usually use a surf rod when striper fishing from shore or a jetty but when I’m in a pier mostly site fishing, I like a bass fishing rod because of the shorter butt. It allows me to handle the rod better and feels more like an extension of my arm. This rod is very durable, well designed and for the price, you cannot beat it! I love the lure keeper, the guides are solid, the cork feels like good quality and it’s handled a bunch of stripes ranging from 2-9lbs. Of course I use a drop net for the larger ones but I’ve been able to reel up then pier flip the smaller ones no issue. I bought the 7ft medium heavy and I couldn’t ask for more. I actually bought this rod because the 7ft medium heavy Abu Garcia Max SX I was using for this same type of fishing broke when I was casting a 1oz casting metal too hard. I was sad because I loved that combo but when this one arrived and I saw it had two tip sections, I tried fitting the extra tip on my broken Abu and it fit!! So I got a new amazing rod and saved my last rod with one $46 purchase!

Well It’s a good rod to use in this price range. Ultralight i used it for a while but the tip down just broke. I don't I didn't even give the pressure however i got the best use of it. Well i am claiming insurance so it will be fine. Best with the insurance i guess comes in hand. Lol never knew it comes around.

Comparable to much more expensive rods.
I’m a big fan of this rod. I bought one for myself and liked it enough to get another for my dad. I have quite a few trout rods: a Phenix Feather, an Ugly Stik Elite, and I’ve owned two St. Croix Trout Series rods. I’d rank this one second after the Phenix Feather, but it costs much less. It’s very similar to the St. Croix in feel and performance, but both of my St. Croix rods broke within a few months, while this one has landed plenty of 18-inch trout without any problems. It’s sensitive, durable, and affordable. I’ve used it with three different light trout reels: a Pflueger President, an Okuma Helios, and a Shimano Sienna. It works great with all of them. For the price, it’s hard to beat and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good trout rod without spending a lot. Only complaint I have is they ship it loose in a cardboard box, but it came undamaged both times, so not a big deal.

Disappointingly Weak or defective Rod
I’m an Okuma fan and have an extensive collection of their fishing gear. From bait casting reels to spinning reels. Heard a lot of good things about the Celilo series of rods so bought one to use for trout fishing. The order arrived with a broken rod tip. The box was a little beat up so I chalked it up as shipper error. Amazon sent me a replacement rod that looked good out of the box. I paired it with a Pfluegar President reel and spooked it with 4lb fluorocarbon. It sat on the rod rack unused for a few months before I took it to the stream to trout fish. Within a handful of casts the rod snapped at the base of the reel set near the cork handle. I was shocked and dumbfounded. I’ve never had a rod break like that. Let alone a rod that was used to flip a 1/16 ounce inline spinner 20 feet across a small trout stream. Could it have been a defective rod from the factory? Or another rod damaged during shipping? Not sure if buying directly from Okuma would’ve helped but none the less back to the drawing board.

Noodley 8ft UL
Ordered the 8ftUL to get into some stockers and carp. Casting distance is better than with 6'6" ML for small spinners and tiny jigheads, but it's so noodley that it pulls the lure backwards in flight, cutting casting distance. I've returned it and bought a Sensilite from Shimano. 8ft L. Much better rod so far imo

Nice and Light, Very Portable
I basically only use ultralight rods now because there aren't any fish bigger than 5lbs where I live. This rod can probably take a 8lb catfish on though as long as there aren't any weeds or obstructions in the way. I run it with Lunker 10lb braid with a small size reel (Piscifun carbon X II 1000) and the whole setup is very light and weighs about a pound or a little less? I can lift it up with one finger, so it's a breeze to fish all day with it. I do keep it in a rod case though, since I've had an ultralight rod break on my in the past because a bottle of hand sanitizer rolled over the rod tip while I was driving. Other than that, just make sure you don't put it until it breaks on a snag, I like to wrap the line around a stick and will with that instead so the rod isn't bending into a horseshoe shape. That is, use the rod as intended and it should last you years.
