Waykar Max 80 Pint/D(Standard 62Pint/D) Energy Star Home Dehumidifier for Spaces up to 5,000 Sq. Ft, Ideal for Basement, Bathroom and Large Room with Drain Hose, Portable, Auto Defrost and Self-Drying

I purchased this model as a replacement for an older Waykar that has been keeping my basement dry for several years. The new model took my basement from 71% RH to 52% RH overnight. I also have an independent humidity monitor which tells me that the unit is calibrated well and precise. This model is quieter and smaller than the previous one which is an added bonus. It comes with a drain hose so it is ready to go right out of the box. The set up was super easy and the control panel is very user friendly. I would recommend this model to anyone that needs a quiet machine to keep their finished basement at a comfortable humidity level.

I’d like to comment on both the 80-pint dehumidifier and the exceptional customer service. In fact, if I could give a separate rating for both the product and the service, they would both be 5-star! Here’s some context: I originally purchased the 50-pint home dehumidifier that was rated for 4500 sq ft. I used it for about 6 months when I started to have a problem with the automatic shut off. I contacted Waykar Customer Service who responded within 12-hours. While I was pleasantly surprised with their quick response, I was even more surprised and pleased that this response time was the standard and not the exception throughout the remainder of my correspondence with the Agents. Each email was signed by the Customer Service Agent so when I responded, I was able to address the agent by name and more often than not, the same Agent responded so I didn’t have to restart the conversation with a new Agent. While the Agent offered to replace the unit without any hesitation, I had found that the 50-pint dehumidifier was not sufficiently powerful enough to dry the lower level room I was using it for so I asked the Agent if they would be willing to let me pay the difference for a larger unit. They came back with a response that, of course, I was very happy with: they apologized that the product didn’t meet my expectation and inconvenience and offered to replace my 50-pint machine with an 80-pint that was rated for 5000 sq ft. I accepted the thoughtful offer and have been using the new appliance for the past several months. I have been very satisfied with the 80-pint unit: it is more powerful; it pulls more moisture from the room; it actually seems quieter than the smaller unit and seems more substantial. Of course, the 60+% increased capacity also means I don’t have to empty the water tank as often. My only feedback is that the removal and replacement of the tank requires some ‘jiggling’ to get it to seat properly. I would put it in the ‘inconvenient’ category vs. in the ‘difficult’ category. Bottom line: I read through a sampling of reviews and I’d echo most of the comments I read both in terms of the product and especially related to Waykar’s customer service. It’s not often when a company’s customer support team and process exceeds expectations…but in my experience, I can unequivocally they went ‘way above and beyond.’ They are the ‘real deal.’

Dehumidifier is quiet, easy to operate, compact, and exceeds expectations. We live in the Midwest and use this in our lower level utility room to keep humidity levels down. Work great when paired with air exchanger to maintain air quality in our home. Waykar is not a brand I recognized, but seem to be on par with or better than traditional appliance brands. Autodrain was easy to set up and did not require and modification— just remove cap/plug and connect included hose or standard garden hose (garden hose shown in photo).

I have truly enjoyed the Waykar dehumidifier. The product is very well built and functions with high capacity. I gave this product a 4 instead of 5 because of the few quirks with my unit. On several occasions the unit contained to run after meeting the humid% level but this was minimum. Maybe due to operator error. I’m still not sure if the unit covers the entire home. Nevertheless, great product.

I bought this dehumidifier to help with the damp feeling in my basement, and I’m really impressed. It started pulling moisture from the air right away, and within hours I could already feel the difference. The air feels fresher, and that musty smell is gone. It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and the water tank is simple to empty. I also appreciate the auto shut-off feature when the tank is full—no worries about spills. Best part is, it runs quietly so it doesn’t disturb anyone when it’s on. Overall, this dehumidifier works exactly as described and has made my home much more comfortable. Highly recommend!

I’m very happy with my Waykar dehumidifier. It works great, is very quiet, and does an excellent job removing moisture without being disruptive. The price is excellent for the quality and performance you get. On top of that, Waykar’s customer service is outstanding—responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. Overall, a great value and a product I would definitely recommend.

I bought this Waykar dehumidifier back in Sept. ‘24. I bought it because the reviews were consistently good across the board and I had a humidity problem in my basement . It shipped in perfect condition and the setup was easy. It is important to let the machine “sit” in its new location for 24 hours before actually using it. It ran well and functioned well for a year before it started making a loud noise while running and the dehumidifying properties went down. I contacted Waykar customer support and asked if they could explain the problem and offer a fix? They responded right away ! After some back and forth , they offered to replace the unit as long as I returned my old one. Seemed more than fair to me . I am in the process of doing that…… My unit was a month over the one year warranty period and they still honored the overall warranty ! I find that incredible in today’s day and age ….. I am expecting them to send me a new unit as they have promised ! Great Company and good product service !

I’m really happy this dehumidifier. I use it in my basement and it covers the space really well and the air feels a lot less damp. It was easy to set up, and I like that it comes with a drain hose so I don’t have to keep emptying the tank. It’s also quieter than I expected. The handle makes it easy to move when I need to. If you need a dehumidifier for a large room or basement, this one is definitely worth it.

J’ai acheté le déshumidificateur Waykar 80 «pints» modèle YDZ-80. Il a été commandé le 30 septembre et livré le 2 octobre. Bravo Amazon!!!!!. J’ai attendu au 3 octobre pour le mettre en marche pour m’assurer que le fluide caloporteur soit bien à sa place. Ce déshumidificateur remplace un vieux Sunbeam. Déjà en le déballant je m’aperçois que bien qu’il soit de la même taille, ce Waykar est au moins 30% moins lourd. Bravo Waykar!!!. Depuis qu’il a été mis en marche, l’appareil a réussi à abaisser le taux d’humidité de la maison (3500) pi2 de 66% à 49% en 3 jours et le maintenir entre 45% et 50% avec un minimum d’énergie. Quelle différence fait cet appareil «EnergyStar». Photo 1. Le panneau de contrôle rend l’appareil très simple à utiliser (photo 2). On peut même le faire fonctionner sur un horaire programmé pour être utilisé la nuit quand le coût de l’électricité est plus faible. Combiné avec la fonction arrêt-départ automatique quand le niveau d’humidité requis est atteint, on utilise une énergie minimale pour le maintien d’un taux d’humidité confortable. L’option d’un drainage continu de l’eau est aussi très «cool» (photo 3-4). Plus besoin de surveiller le niveau d’eau accumulé dans le bac et de le vider régulièrement De plus, le filtre est très accessible pour le nettoyage (photo 5). Donc, jusqu’à maintenant je suis très satisfait du rendement de l’appareil.
