Probably one of the best purchases I’ve made on Amazon. I have so many old hats that I love to wear, but I don’t because they are filthy from sweat, dirt and are quite smelly to be honest. I’ve held onto them promising myself that I would find a way to clean them one day. After years I finally pulled the trigger on these hat cages and I’m glad I did. This deal seemed to be the best one. I got 4 hat cages. Tested one first and the results were amazing. Put the hat in the cage, dropped it in the washer with a small amount of detergent (Top Load Washer) and ran a delicate cycle. Pulled it out and hung it up to dry while still in the cage. Once dry, my hat looked brand new again and might I add that it smelled better than new LOL. The cages are very sturdy and don’t come apart, even in the spin cycle. I’m very pleased with my purchase and I recommend them to anyone who loves to wear baseball style caps. Especially fitted ones! Note: I’m a size 8 hat. (Yes, huge dome LOL) and the hat fit fine. The nice thing is that it keeps the important and most delicate parts (the front and brim) nice and secure. The back of a hat wrinkles and doesn’t have support, so it doesn’t matter much if it isn’t held in place like the front. Overall, fantastic item. Get them. Clean your hats. Stop stinking and don’t throw your old hats away. Wash them with these and you’ll be glad you did!

A great buy. My father is a hat collector. It was easy to wash several of them all at once. Just throw them in the washing machine...

Did I do something wrong? I used this product in the dishwasher, washed 4 hats. The settings on the dishwasher were "half load". On each hat there is a large white "stain"; the hats are worse off than before I washed them. Ugh. Edit/update: okay, so I ran 1 hat through the washing machine with clothes, a full load. Wow! The hat came out great! So I washed 4 more hats, along with 1 hand towel in a separate load. 3 of the molds came apart so the hats lost their shape. But, they were clean. Perhaps the plastics came apart because it was a small load? I'm not giving up on these though and I'm going to try to bump my rating to 3-star.

These were cheaper by volume than another set I saw on here. 4 for 19 bucks where as the others were 2 for 19 bucks. I figured I'd go with these. Most instructions for these hat cages tell you to NOT use a front loading washer but if you buy a cheap pack of zip ties and place one zip tie on each end of the cage, you can get away with it. If I had to buy these again, I probably would.
