This is my favorite childhood book. I'm glad that it's still in print so I can get it for others. I still have my original copy that is over 50 years old. Great story, good price

Great story to teach kids the importance of bathing, and has cute, memorable artwork.

This is a book that will grow along with my son. Some of the story line is difficult to understand, but my son gets the basic concept. Right now, he loves to point out all of the different elements on each page: a train! a car! a boy! As he ages, the book will begin to take on more meaning. The book is about a dog who does not want to take a bath, so instead he runs out the door and finds mischief while playing around in town. He starts to get hungry and lonely and finds his way back home, but the family doesn't recognize him because he's so dirty. He used to be a white dog with black spots, but now he's a black dog with white spots. This is a classic children's book and one that I'm so glad we have in our home library. It's really a must. The size is just right and the book is quite sturdy for the adventurous toddler grip. We even found the companion DVD and I'm amazed at how the animation only enhances the story, not over powers it. Great baby shower gift

This is a terrific book to read with very young children. We enjoyed reading it with our four children when they were growing up, and we recently took it as a gift for our just-turned-two grand daughter. She asked me to read it multiple times a day during our visit, and sat through the whole story. She enjoyed pointing out the bath over and over (she loves baths), and finding Harry on every page of his getting dirty adventure. I'm always glad to have books that are short and simple enough to enjoy with really little ones.

I purchased this book for my granddaughter as I had read the story regularly to my daughter 40 years ago and she loved it. I had somehow lost the original book so was thrilled to find it still available. This copy is much smaller than the original but content still the same. My granddaughter obviously hasn’t a clue what a coal chute is so had to explain! Story is reflective of the time it was written.
