Exactly what I wanted

I took an old birdhouse, cleaned it out and decided tio turn it into an insect hotel. We have a few "bought" ones around that are incredibly successful. This was the first time trying to 'make' one. And it was well worth it! The tubes are quite long, so I cut them in half and doubled their value. Stuck them in place with glue on the sides (not entrance)....it can get messy, but nothing you can't clean up afterwards. And the bees love them! The photo is just an early shot of the early visitors. Lots of interest in them and they're incredibly sturdy.

The tubes arrived quickly, I have put them in the mason bee house and have noticed bees going in and out, so the bees seem to like them too. This is the first year of using them so don’t know how easy it will be for soaking and getting the chrysalis out ready for winter/spring.

I love these paper tubes for helping mason bees! They are the perfect size for mason bees as I can easily take the cocoons out after the season and keep them safe from diseases until the next spring.
