FULL REVIEW INCLUDING 2 YEAR UPDATE: I sold my Citizen and Seiko and this is now my daily watch most of the time. I'm not careful with it at all, it's taken many bumps and whacks. This is a big watch but I love big watches so that's what I wanted. But the fairly short total length and low weight make it super comfy. I also love the dial colors, the easy to read digital display and the big raised numbers for the hour markers that make this look and feel like more of a pilot's watch. I love the design of the hands too. Simple but sharp and bold and easy to see. 53.9mm lug to lug. In other words the total length of the watch body. (The official Casio measurements for the length are incorrect, I think they don't include the lugs.) But it's very light and comfortable. Around 42g without strap. Bezel width is 45.3mm Body length without the lugs is 51.5mm Thickness is 14.7mm Case diameter without buttons is 47.1mm Total width left to right with crown is 52mm The flat case back and crown that is raised away from the back (by 3.7mm) make this very very comfy when worn fitted or loose. The crown never pokes the back of my hand no matter how I move my wrist. Huge thumbs up. 👍🏻 But in theory it could poke a bit if you wear it both low and tight. But still a lot less than some other watches that poke really bad. (If it's really an issue for you then see my titanium one below with no crown at all.) I always have my strap set pretty big so I can instantly go from wearing it fitted fairly high on the wrist or loose and low on the wrist (depending on what I'm doing I just slide my watch to the position I prefer). My wrist in the photos is around 7 inch diameter. This watch had a plastic case (the main body of the watch) with steel bezel. Lovely blue bezel but it will scratch and the metal under it will show very visibly. But that's okay just enjoy it. Consider your scratches "battle damage". There is also a black color variant of this watch without the color on the bezel but I wanted the blue dial. (Honestly I'm tempted by the green one too if I find a great deal someday.) The blue bezel looks bright or dark blue depending on lighting. Big diffused lights like windows or big photography studio lights make it look the brightest. I added a Wocci brand FKM rubber strap that I got on Amazon. Very very comfy and doesn't irritate my skin even though I sleep with it. I didn't like the included fabric strap but in general I don't like fabric for my uses so you might like it. Good LED light. Bright enought but doesn't point towards your face. And the digital display has it's own light from the side. You get 3 seconds or 1 second light options in the menu. Amazing lume that lasts all night without me needing to point a flashlight at it. Better than anything I've owned. The lume is even visible in the day time if I've been outside or near a window. The watch itself is solar powered. Should last at least a decade and then it's easy to swap the battery if you know how. Or a watch repair place can do it for you. No wireless connectivity but it's easy enough to set the time manually and has a good quartz movement so generally not an issue. You can select the time zone easily with the crown (you use it to point the seconds hand at the city codes written on the bezel). Very cool. And switching back and forth between the home time and your second time zone is very easy (just a long press of the top left button in the world time mode). Has cool features like digital compass that points with seconds hand — and shows on the digital display for example "NNE" (north north east) plus the angle in degrees (from 1° to 360°). Very cool. Very quiet. I can only hear it ticking from around 6 inches from my ear if the room is very quiet. Good button beep and alarm loudness. Not mega loud but good in fairly quiet environments. Similar loudness to most Casios. I previously mistakenly wrote that there's no hourly chime. That's incorrect. It's just hidden in the alarms menu rather than the time setting menu. Has 5 daily alarms. Has seconds "hacking" (stopping the second hand so you can adjust the seconds). Enter time setting mode and press the top left button, then wait and press the crown in at the right moment. Very easy to use the timers. Main stopwatch does 24h (but keeps going from 0 again the next day until you stop it) and countdown can start from 1 to 60 minutes. The countdown timer start number is adjusted easily using the crown. And it remembers your number so after that it's just one button press to start another countdown. I keep mine at 10 minutes for quick reminders like to check my potatoes when cooking. And in general very easy to use. Mode switching works like most Casios and the modes can be switched quickly (some other watches like the GBD-200 are a little more sluggish so you need to press a bit slower on that watch). And as usual you can long press the menu button to return to the main time mode (I call it the home screen). The home screen can show the day date or the digital home time with seconds and A / P (to indicate AM / PM) , or one of the readings from the air pressure sensor. There's no option to show a second time zone in the home screen, only the world time mode where it's shown on the main dial and the home time is shown on the digital display with a little "HT" (home time) next to it. I don't use the barometer (air pressure sensor) for anything so can't really comment on that. But it can show you elevation and that measurement can be calibrated/adjusted but I couldn't tell you how accurate it is. There's also a temperature that has the option to calibrate/adjust up or down if you have something else to compare to. (Not accurate while worn obviously because it gets heat from the body contact.) And changing most settings is done via the crown which is clicky when you turn it but it's digital so it can set various things depending on the mode. (Each click is a change of one number on the display.) It's also a screw in crown for strength. And it's actually metal. The buttons are nice and big and easy to press but not as cool looking as the huge metal ones on the G-Shock mudmasters. It has a 23mm strap width which is less common but easy enough to find. And if your strap is soft like rubber then 24mm easily squeezes down to 23 and it's nearly impossible to notice. That's what I did. Just gotta swap out the spring bar for a 23mm one. I also tried some other straps like a Speidel brand expansion bracelet in 23mm that I didn't like very much (it's their model that comes with the Fitbit adapter - they also have apple adapter versions but they are more like 22mm at the lug connection) and I tried a 22mm magnetic mesh bracelet that worked great (only the digital compass doesn't work if that bracelet is attached but i had no issues with the compass after removing the bracelet so it doesn't seem to magnetize the watch.) I included a photo of the lovely titanium Casio LCW-M100TSE as a smaller alternative to this. Under 43.7mm lug to lug and only 9.5mm thick. Also sapphire, solar, etc. I carefully sanded off the blue bezel to show the steel under it. The city time zone codes are cut deep enough that they weren't damaged by the sanding. (Don't do this yourself unless you really know how to do it safely. I did it under water to avoid dust in the air, plus a proper dust mask, and I covered the glass and buttons in masking tape.) And I must say that I'm very happy this watch doesn't have a steel back panel. My skin can have a reaction to long steel contact so this works great for me. Plus it keeps the weight super low. The watch and Wocci rubber band are still working amazing after 2 years. So comfy. I ordered a different style Wocci strap for my titanium Casio. Not pictured as it's still on the way. I'd love for this Pro Trek to be titanium so it feels more like a "proper" watch but at the same time I love the huge size with ultra light weight (titanium would still be heavier even though it's lighter than steel) and if you think about it like a "G-Shock" work tool rather than a fancy watch then the plastic body makes total sense. The only potential weak part I can see is that if pulled very strongly (like if it gets stuck on something) then the steel spring bars could rip through the plastic lugs. But I've only ever seen this happen once or twice in watch forums and not on this model but on the super entry level square vintage models (F91W etc). Still it's possible. But it seems Casio have thought about this and I see the official Casio replacement lugs are only around $15 so it's really not a big issue and can be easily replaced at home in 5 minutes with just a commonly available hex screwdriver bit. And you always want to have a weak point so that the watch breaks before your arm does. (At least in theory.) And having that weak point easily and cheaply replaceable at home is perfect in my opinion. 👍🏻 And a cool bonus is that having 4 screw points on the sides of the case gives people the option to 3D print their own customized lug shapes/sizes or I suppose almost anything they want to connect to it. Maybe stuff like bull bars to cover the front glass could be really cool. Or custom adapters to various things like apple watch bands or even fully 3D printed bracelets. In the last photo you can see I tried some Juelong brand Tropic style straps and unfortunately they irritate my skin so I'm back on the Wocci one. The Wocci is also much more flexible. The Juelongs are very stiff in the area near the watch where they have no holes. Not an issue on the big watch but on small watches you want that flexibility. There's also a cool feature where you press the light button then the bottom left button and the hands all move out of the way so you can read the digital display. But I've never had issues reading the display even with the hands over it (and it's a bit of an awkward button combination because both are on the bottom) so I never use this feature. Anyways. Very happy. This watch plus my small titanium watch and a "beater" G-Shock for super dirty work and skateboarding makes an amazing budget watch selection.

Most Casio Pro Trek watches look like Pro Trek watches. They're bulky, angular, and covered with words describing every feature. This watch has all of the Pro Trek features you would want, without the chunky aesthetic. It's solar, but doesn't say 'tough solar' in large print on the bezel. The backlight button is unlabeled. The function buttons are labeled, but the print is small and on the dial under the glass. In fact, most of the text on the dial is subtle. The one exception is the orange 'BAROMETER' text on the mode dial, but it's not too big and the color looks good with the other orange accents. The large white numbers and hands are easy to read against the dark blue face. The positive digital screen is easy to read, and has a slightly blue tint that matches the blue theme of the watch. The dark blue bezel is a nice color, and it pops nicely in direct sunlight. The engraved time zone indicators are small and a little difficult to read, as they're black on dark blue. It's a large watch, but it's lightweight, so it feels smaller on the wrist. This is likely due to the construction, which is primarily black plastic. Even the back cover is plastic, though it feels like a high quality, durable plastic. Other miscellaneous things: The crown screws down, for better water resistance. The buttons are large and textured, and easy to press. The orange second hand aligns with the indices perfectly, and adds a nice contrast to the blue theme. The lug width is 23mm, which is an odd size, but there are strap options out there. The fabric strap that's included is comfortable, though I wish the hardware was black instead of silver to match the aesthetic of the watch.

This is sharp looking pro-tek. Fits super comfortable and easy to read. This is my second pro-tek and I love it. The strap could be better for the price but its ok. Took off one star for that. Great features and look. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 23MM STRAP NOT A 24MM STRAP. Odd width but you can still buy select straps for it.

Love the watch! Hate the fabric band. The watch is great, it has a big bold face, keeps accurate time and has some functions that any outdoorsy person is gonna dig. Altimeter, compass, temperature, stopwatch, I can go on and on. The band is terrible. After wearing this for 3 months the hole that I set the post into has already stretched out so the watch is loose on my wrist, it's a personal thing to me, it's a watch not a bracelet, plus the metal ring that keep the band in place slips all over the place. Anyhow, gonna buy a silicone or rubber band to replace the lame fabric one. YES, I do suggest it, I would buy again...

I'm 78 years old and really appreciate the easy to read (time) watch face. I use none of the "complications" on the watch other than occasionally the stopwatch and countdown timer. I don't need the other features other than the day-date and illumination. The lume on this watch is better than most of my usual diver watches; I can still read the time in the dark after 6+ hours. Amazing. Of course, the LED lights everything up nicely if needed. I will replace the OEM watch band. My wrists are small (around 7.5 inch) and I do not care for the metal keepers. They get in the way, and of course the watch band is very large. I could cut it down, but those metal keepers are still there. I am replacing the watch band with something else, probably another silicon dark blue one. Yes, it takes a 23mm watch band like someone else said. The description by Casio is incorrect.

Great watch. As good of a non smart field watch as I’ve ever had (Garmin is great if you want the extra capabilities and distractions). Will say the temperature gauge on it is rather meaningless because your body temperature obviously impacts the reading. But I do enjoy the ease of the barometer, altimeter and compass functions for hunting. Wears great. Bought an extra 23 mm strap but haven’t swapped it out. Surprised by how good a feel the OEM strap is.

I pre ordered this watch and have finally received it and gotten some good wrist time with it. This is not my first protrek as I have prw6600, prg650, prw7000, prtb70, prw61 and some others I may be forgetting. It is well made and has all the features of the prg650, 600 line of watches in that it does not have multiband 6 like the prw6600 line. It is essentially a prw6600 without multiband 6 and has a 23mm strap width instead of a 24mm width. What I love most about this watch is the legibility in the analog as well as digital information. The lume is alot better than I remember on my other protrek's. The positive display is very legible and rare among darker colored protrek watches. Being in the medical field the yellow second hand is great for counting heart rates etc. The cloth band is very supple and nice but I did swap it out for a silicone band just for ease of cleaning if I get it soiled while in my clinical rotations. So all in all, this is a great watch. The bio resin construction seems solid so far but this being a newer technology remains to be proven so we shall see. Also I provided this video, the photo that Amazon has shown, what looks like a black face but in real life it is a dark deep od green that pairs well with the OD green strap lugs. There is also a great deal of dimension to the face. I did install a glass protector also on this watch so this may also be noticeable in the video. Take care.

I am a watch fan that owns all types: from high-end Breitling and Cartier, to the simplest $14 dollars Casio. This watch is the most practical watch you can own with a lot of functions and really good looks!!! Really good look.. comparable to Breitling Endurance Series. It takes some time to know all the features. I learned a lot of its functions through Youtube tutorials, which I recommend, specially in troubleshooting and additional settings. This is a lightweight Atomic watch with dual energy supply: battery and solar. With pressing one button you can switch time zones, feature that I love as I travel frequently. Also, it measures temperature, altimeter, barometric pressure, compass, have timer, alarm, chronometer and other functions with great precision. Don’t think about it and just buy this watch. The day it arrived I showed it to a couple of friends- all of them also bought this watch when they saw it with all the features it have!!

I've always loved Casio watches and this one stood out to me. I like the blue colour and the watch face dial is very eye catching. The watch is very comfortable to wear and it looks good at night with it's illuminated back light. The watch has great features with a triple sensor for weather, altitude and compass readings, plus it's tough solar so no need to worry about battery replacement. This is my first Pro Trek watch it's very impressive I love it.
