My plants have never grown so fast! This raised bed is the best. When one of my three stand up wooden beds collapsed, I searched for a replacement and found this. Next year I will retire one of the other raised stands even though it is still sturdy and add a large veggie pod. These are really the best.

Very sturdy stand and easy to put together but just a bit pricey. I like the stand but if I had to purchase another one I would get the trolley stand so I can place it where I want too easily. UPDATE. Get the Trolly Stand. It might me a bit more in price but you won’t be sorry. Your back would love it.

I find in heavy rains that it retains too much water. I think more drain holes would help. Would like to have a rainproof cover for on top of the other cover for this reason.

I am so happy with this, plants are growing beautifully! I got the large pod and it took a lot of soil (13 bags; 1.5 cubit ft each) and water to fill, but it is all working so well. We left it alone for a week so far with no problem, and So Cal is hot right now. If I get good at this I will be ordering another one! And the customer service from Vegepod is great; a couple of the water mister valves didn't work and they sent the replacements right away. I will say, however, that assembly is challenging if you aren't handy - be patient. Luckily, my husband is handy. I can't speak to maneuverability as ours is stationary (no wheels). A large pod with all of that dirt might stress the legs. Very happy with this product.

I had my Vegepod on the deck, then decided to move it to the side of the deck when we put up a Gazebo. The stand is super sturdy. Should last a while.

This was a gift for my elderly mother who needed to be able to garden standing up. The online assembly videos are invaluable- Short and humorous. The Vegepod cover will protect from squirrels and unfriendly insects and birds. The steel stand will make it dog proof. Expensive but worth it!

So you should take that rating out. If you tried to move this with the weight of the dirt in the pod the legs would surely fold and collapse. Even though I have it on solid ground, I am still concerned about collapse because I have one where it appears one leg moves around slightly for no apparent reason, even though I have screwed and bolted them in hard. I wonder if they were manufactured correctly because these legs should be on all fours square and they don't seem to be. I have one set that is perfect and on the other the leg wants to move inwards towards the middle of the bed, which would cause the whole system to buckle and collapse. The entire purchase will turn into trash over that one leg. I will keep at it until I find what the problem is. In the meantime, I'm praying that it holds like it is warranteed to do. UPDATE: I love the Vegepod system itself but be forewarned DO NOT use the normal amount of water you think that your plants would need. Be very stingy with water. This system is extremely water efficient and if you water at the level that you think is normal, you will end up with an infestation of dirt gnats or aphids, which I had to contend with, but they are gone now and it was due to watering at a level I considered normal.. so be stingy. I haven't had to water since I watered the plants the first time and it's been a month now. Normal rainfall will take care of them. So, unless your plants are like withering or drooping, leave them be, even if the top of the dirt is dry. The system itself is quite remarkable and it is true, whatever kind of climate it is creating for the plants causes them to grow rapidly. I have already harvested certain items twice and the growth is exponential. Highly recommend the pod. The stand is another story. It's been about a month now and yesterday I saw that same leg that was giving issues bending inwards again. Very frustrating. I adjusted the leg and retightened the bolts. Not easy to do with now all the dirt and plants growing in it. They really need to improve on the stand part of the system. It a very expensive unit to have to be concerned about collapse over a stand.

I am generally happy with this product. However, smaller versions of this item are shown with wheels. I contacted the seller to inquire about wheels. I was told wheels were not able to be installed on the large unit because of the Weight. That did not make any sense to me. Then I realized it has nothing to do with weight it has to do with flimsy construction. If they increased the size of the hardware and some of the brackets wheels would be no problem. As you can see in the photographs, I retrofit the large veggie pod to work with wheels. To me without wheels the thing is useless, I need to be able to move it to maintain my home and clean up. The item is very expensive and I believe when you’re charging that much money you should make a quality product that can function reasonably.
