Seagate SkyHawk 6TB, Video Internal Hard Drive, 3.5", SATA, 6Gb/s, 64MB Cache, for DVR/NVR Security Camera System, with Drive Health Management, Data Rescue Services, FFP (ST6000VXZ09)

I ordered this reconditioned hard drive in error, but, when it arrived I decided to go with it. It looked new and was well packaged. It has gone into a Eufy HomeBase and is doing a very good job. You can hear a slight hum from the device when you are very close and listening for it, otherwise it's un-noticable. It's been active for over a month woth no issues so far.

Very easy to set up and install worked perfectly straight from the box. Installed in a security system.

Absolutely amazing, was a breeze to swap out an old one with this, just had my old regular barracuda die on me from 3.5years of uptime (continous) functioning as an NVR drive, out of which around 1 year was fully writing 24/7, I am hoping this will last around the same or longer, frigate is fairly good on writing to storage, and this immediately got picked up and formatted brand new drive was in place and being recorded onto in like 5 mins from opening the package. It was in an ESD bag and the box was strong and had a sort of tangy movement for the drive so even if it got slammed during delivery it would still work just fine. Since this is lower power consumption than my previous drive it would generate less heat too which is just a bonus. So far its silent mounted sideways in a drive bay, just using it in a stripe so will definitely see how long it will last. Fairly cheap and with 3 cameras constantly writing to it, I can store around 30days worth of 1080p footage, maybe even more, but I dont want to reach 90% usage on a drive constantly.

I bought this HDD for my CCTV DVR setup that runs 24/7. So far it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to. There’s a slight hum when it’s running (bit like a quiet fridge) but that’s pretty normal for a 3.5” drive. Keeps cool and doesn’t make any strange noises. PROS - Plug and play, worked straight away in my DVR (after format prompt by the DVR) - Designed for CCTV use so it can handle continuous 24/7 recording with ease. - Runs cool and stable so far. Generally quick for watching back videos. - Seagate gives data recovery support and drive health tools which is a nice bonus. CONS - Very slight hum, so not silent, though you’d only notice if it’s in a quiet room. Overall: If you’re setting up or upgrading a CCTV/DVR system, this is a solid pick. Works as expected, no drama, just does its job. Not bad value for a 4TB drive.

Bought it for the home NAS. Was thinking about going with IronWolf but have been recommended Skyhawk siries instead as they are cheaper. NAS was in operation for about 6 months, so far no complaints. Not a lot of noise as it's a 5400rpm drive. Speed is also about as expected from an HDD. Drive is perfect suitable for gigabit networking.

Excellent hard drives for CCTV storage and back-up. Seagate are always reliable.

Worked as expected in my Reolink NVR camera system in order to increase the video storage capacity. The price is reasonable for the amount of storage. It has lasted about 6 months now with no issue and no loss of video data.

I purchased a security system with 4 cameras and storage. The unit it came with only lasted two years. Bought this for the replacement. Been 6 months and no issues. Easy install and great capacity before rewrite loop starts.
