Outboard Motor, 2 Stroke 18 hp 246cc Heavy Duty Boat Engine Fishing Boat Motor w/CDI System Water Cooling System (2 Stroke 18HP long shaft)

First I loved the price and the size and that it does NOT used mixed fuel. I also feel that air cooled is advantageous. It comes in two separate boxes - one for the motor and one for the shaft, tiller, etc. It does require some assembly and the Owners manual is worse than useless. It has NO assembly instructions and tells you incorrectly about the oil and gas! It says they are to be mixed AND to use two-cycle oil. WRONG and WRONG. Do NOT mix and use 4-cycle oil. The manual that comes with the motor has the correct information related to the motor so at least there is that. Engine cranked after about a dozen pulls and after pressing the prime bulb several times, so at least I know it runs. I'll add to the report tomorrow after I take it out for a spin. UPDATE: I took the motor out today. Ran it for a total of 2 1/2 hours, mostly at about 70% full throttle and it worked perfectly. Their claim on full efficiency is spot on. It did consume more oil than I expected but it ran like a champ. All total it went about 13 miles today and with my 14' VHull and a "gross" weight of about 700 lbs including gear, me, and all averaged about 5-6mph. I am very pleased. It does what I need it to do. One day I will upgrade to a 15hp motor but until then this one will get lots of lake time! Revised to 5 stars

Shipping was fast. Motor looks great. Seems to be built with some quality. Always make sure to check gear fluids and fasteners. Mine was full but changed just for peace of mind. Motor cranked on second pull idled great. Done what I would consider a break in for at least 4 hours never going full throttle and it done excellent! When it come time for me to give it full throttle it seemed like it would not hit full rev slight bogging. I see no adjustments on carb, just idle adjustment screw. This could be a issue. If I can not get it to rev out in a barrel of water then I don't expect it to change when I put it on my boat in the lake. Only other adjustment is the needle on slide of carb but the dosent change the max rpm. Maybe have to source an adjustable carb to get this little Motor to peak performance. Seller I give 5 star. The motor was every thing that was in description and photos and price was good. Motor give 3 star just cause im gonna have to invest time a effort into getting it tuned for my liking. I've been a mechanic for 15 years so in no way am I just spouting off things that I don't know anything about. Please keep in mind who manufactures this outboard. But as with everything else I believe with good care and precautions this little Motor should last.

I bought this motor in the Spring of 2024 and it worked like a charm. I use it on my 14 foot jon boat and with two 200lb adults its top speed is 15 mph. By myself it will top 20 mph. I replaced my 6 hp Hangkai motor looking for more speed and this one fit the bill. I followed the break in instruction to the letter and have no problems with it. I also use non ethanol gas in the motor along with all of my small gas engine equipment.

I bought this for my 1436 aluminum flatbottom, I can get up to 20mph and runs smooth. If you are scared of getting scammed or it showing up different from the picture, you weren't the only one. I was nervous at first but it came in and I couldn't be happier.

I bought this motor, and was super impressed at first. It worked well, until it didn’t. Top speed was about 4.5mph and got me where I needed to go. Getting this thing titled in Texas was a pain but it ended up working out. After about 3 months, the carburetor somehow went bad and I had to replace it. The cutoff switch sometimes would not kill the engine and I would have to pinch the fuel line. The fuel tank itself began to leak from the bolt holes. Buy this if you want to, just know it WILL have issues and the support is pretty unhelpful. Just remember Daddy’s words of “you get what you pay for”.

Purchased this for our 10' blow up boat. It arrived quicker than expected. Accessories and manuals are good quality. Broke the engine in for two hours @1/4 throttle before getting it on the lake. Boy did this engine hum. We could really cruse around. Only toped full throttle for 30 seconds or so for the video. Have more break in time at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. Started on the 3rd pull in the lake. Not to heavy to carry for this 62yr old man. Would purchase again!

Came in really good shape. I had to return it. That was a bit complicated and cost me even with prime. I didn't get to use it but it seemed high quality from it's construction

As good as a 9.9 Mercury, black too! and 1/3 the price.
