🔆 Power your future, block the backflow — stay ahead with LCLCTC Solar Diode!
The LCLCTC MD 110A-16 Solar Diode is a robust 100 Amp anti-reverse diode designed for solar energy and automotive applications. It supports a wide voltage range (AC < 400V, DC 3-1000V) and prevents backfeed to protect your system. Optimal performance requires a heatsink and thermal compound to manage heat generated during operation, making it a reliable choice for high-current photovoltaic and battery setups.

Did as designed.
Was used to make circuit one directional. It worked to prevent camper battery backfeeding voltage to few accessories that were on the same switching solenoid.

Cost Effective, High-current Rated Diode Assembly
This high current rated, isolating diode assembly works well with higher output solar panels. It will however, begin to over heat (when the load draws more than 10 or 20 amperes) if it is not properly heat sunk. I used an old aluminum power supply heat sink (along with some heat sink thermal compound) to significantly improve the diode's operating temperature range and thereby, its operating current carrying capacity. (See the attached photo). Mounting it to a simple aluminum or steel plate should also work well as a heat sink. I would suggest using some type of heat transfer compound (such as Wakefield Thermal Compound - Part Number 120-2) to improve the heat transfer characteristics.

Doesn't work with smart golf chargers
My golf cart smart charger wouldn't recognize it was connected to the battery when this Diode is in the circuit. Probably isn't the diodes fault but dont try to follow a certain YouTube video for a charging safety lock circuit. I bought another one and it did the same thing.

Good product
I was able to use this Diode in a way it was never meant to be used. I put it on an ONAN GenSet. And it is still working fine.

As intended
Does it's job, was a bit confusing at first but now I'm using them to separate charge. I'm a newbie to solar

Excellent throughput.
Pushed up to 15volts, and the drop was only .9 volts after a fuse. That was before my system regulated the power to the necessary 12 volt standard. Handles all my system can safely push—up to 330amps and will still be in 80% heat safety zone—In fact my 200 amp fuse will blow at 320amps; and since I usually run at 125amps, I am super protected. No concern the capacitor will push/surge back the wrong way now.

Solid well built, easy to install,
Looks solid, add a heat sink if your putting out high current, perfect for me

Works but over-heats at low amperage
I installed this 50amp rated diode in my solar system which has a maximum amperage of about 30. It does stop back-flow of current. However, it gets very hot at far below the rated amperage. With 22 amps flowing, I measured 170 degrees F, which is much too hot to touch. Too hot to touch at anything over 10 amps. I would not want to test what 50 amps would do. I have ordered a 250 amp version and hope that will solve the over-heating issue.

4 stars because its a little bit on the expensive side, but otherwise works well and I like the way it mounts. Using to prevent back feed of capacitors from 700w 12v inverter to my noco onboard charger causing voltage spikes that would set off high voltage alarm on the charger, would buy again.
