Good, but has limitations when set against the older versions
Nothing like the older model! Positives: - Yes it the start up from cold or sleep is quick to respond and guide you through your set route. Alternative routing is clearer when the set route is slow,, delayed or blocked. It follows my wandering around the lanes from the set route and mostly does not try to take me back onto it like the older model did regularly. It is quick to realise where I am going and adjust the set route accordingly. The display is much clearer and in the two weeks that I have had it driving in daylight, bright sunlight and darkness are no problem. As it does not have a sim card slot it quickly picks up my phones bluetooth connection when I remember to reset my phone every time it turns off or reboots itself, turning its bluetooth off requiring me to go through the phones settings to manually turn it on again. Unlike the older one which took some time to connect after booting up the To Tom device. This model has optional visual direction displays when approaching a turn junction. Can be off putting, but useful if you do not want to be disturbed by the voice prompts. It also has the option for standard car use and for towing a trailer or caravan. I use the standard car option and my style of driving is just quicker than the time displayed for the route set, unless I get caught up behind that tractor or one of those slow drivers who regularly get in the way, AND I AM 78, one of those "old codger drivers" who the youngsters regularly complain about. Oh! today on my way home one of them was buried deep up on a raised wooded bank after overcooking it when turning left into a side road. They had crossed over the road and over the pavement before travelling well over a full cars length into the woods on the opposite side of the road. The police and a recovery crew were there scratching their heads on how to get it out of where it had ended up. Negatives: - It only has 32gb memory that cannot be upgraded so will only load one area/continents set of maps at a time. The sounds are what you set on your old Tom Tom and cannot find how to reset them in its settings menu's. the sound is also off key and not as crisp as the older version. The supplied instructions for advanced users are non existent requiring us to blindly play with it or search online to find other users workarounds to get it to do what we are looking for from its operational use. The added petrol pump prices are way off when it actually has the one you are passing. Yesterday, 21/03/2026 it had pre Iran war prices and today, 22/03/2026 they were 10 to 20p above what was displayed on the stations signs. Like all sat nav's / GPS or anything else left on the dash when parked in sunny weather it gets very hot from the sun baking down onto it. I have yet to leave it there long enough for it to lock up due to excessive heat like I did a couple of times with my old one, needing it to be placed in the air conditioned cool air to get it cold enough to spring back into life. Time will tell as the summer approaches and I forget to remove it and place it out of direct view from outside of the car. All in all an improvement in performance but a retrograde in flexibility of use. I give it 90% for delivering what I expected after reading the reviews prior to purchase. I purchased the 7inch version as it was on offer and cheaper than the 6inch one. The increase in size over my older 6inch model makes it clearer to read yet remains unobtrusive on my model of cars screen.

Best sat nav ever
I have sat nav installed in my car but prefer TomTom. I do not have to look down at the car screen in the console. I can keep my eyes on the road and glance at the TomTom. The new features are fantastic. The screen is large and very clear. I can plan my route on my computer, then transfer all of the paces I wish to visit into "my places". I love this kit.

Replacement Satnav
I’ve owned TomTom Satnav’s for years. This purchase was to replace an older one which no longer has map updates. I have waited a few weeks before reviewing and ave used it on a few long trips as well as shorter trips. The maps are clear and I especially like the indications for turns and speed cameras which is different from my previous one. I didn’t think I would like these, but they really are good. What annoys me is my last TomTom had a sim card. This card stopped working and had to be tethered to my phone via Bluetooth. This worked ok. The new TomTom Go Superior has to be manually connected to my phone’s Bluetooth every single time. This is very tedious. It also brings a warning up on the screen that has to be acknowledged even after the connection has been made. Like the old one, it suddenly welcomes me to voice control, even when I don’t use it. This again is tedious and requires driver input. I have seen reviews that state some of the routing is questionable and I do have to agree. Obviously, without knowing traffic conditions, it’s hard to criticise but on known journeys that I make regularly, the satnav journey has been questionable. Speed camera and traffic data (once Bluetooth is connected) works really well and lane directions are great. Everyone tells me to use Google Maps on my phone but I still rather a physical satnav. Looking at other satnavs on the market, this one looks as good as it gets. Is it worth the price? Probably not. I would expect better especially considering TomTom have been doing satnavs for years. They should be better than this. One more gripe. It comes with lots of maps, most of which I will never use, but it annoys me that it requires me to delete maps so the UK map will update as there is insufficient memory. A poor bit of kit that works great, but is badly flawed.

Did not work. Let me down at the worst, worst time. Do not buy.
This was very expensive, but I didn’t mind. It seemed great, with the glass screen, a real upgrade. But it never would connect and so couldn’t do any updates. I had to re enter all my existing Tomtom addresses manually. It would send me to a completely different road, half a mile from the destination, just saying I was there, but it hadn’t completed the route. And then, at 5am, in the morning of a funeral 200 miles away - it wouldn’t switch on at all. Luckily, I had kept my old satnav in the glove box. This satnav is a disaster and I have returned it. I am still waiting for my refund. I would give zero stars if I could.

The good: I purchased this as an upgrade for an older Garmin device used in my car. in particular due to good geographical coverage and speedcam warnings. Compared to my Garmin its a lot easier to find destinations, especially due to internet connectivity through connected phone. The display is large and clear with good user interface. It operates on battery also, even though I haven't tested for how long it lasts. The included suction cup window mount works great and can stay in place, since GPS is connected to it using magnetic socket. The VERY bad. This product was purchased as NEW from Amazon. It was sold with one year premium subscription services. HOWEVER , after 3 months I got a warning that my subscription is ending. This is where everything bad starts. Because I needed the premium services, I went to TomTom web site and purchased a subscription. However, the subscription did not activate. I contacted TomTom to get help and they said I hadn't connected my subscription to my device. They fixed that somehow.... But they also said that the first use of the device was 9 months prior to my purchase on Amazon. So I tried to look at my web account on TomToms website, and discovered that the product tab was giving me an error message. in short it stated that due to a problem, it couldn't display my products. This is of course the main reason I couldn't associate subscription with device. Long story short. After having many many conversations with TomTom and Amazon, my product is still not visible on TomTom account preventing further subscription purchased in the future. I never got the included 12 month premium subscription (only 3 months). I got an additional 40$ cost for a subscription that was supposed to be included. Of course I also contacted Amazon asking why TomTom claims that my device had first use 2023-09-22 when I purchased it as NEW on Amazon (from Amazon) 2024-06-11...... Did I get any help from Amazon to resolve this. No..... So it probably also means warranty is shorter than expected. I do not recommend buying this product from Amazon, in case you run into similar issue. Neither TomTom nor Amazon support will help you if you run into the same issues
