Tile Lock Scrabble

Bought to replace a very old and much used version of 'Travel Scrabble'.This version is different with larger tiles, and its easier to place the tiles between the pegs than it was to place tiles into holes (especially when some of the tiles began to lose the little legs which were prone to break off as the tiles aged).So, after it's first use with four players I am very impressed with the design and sturdiness of this version, and look forward to many years of use.

Much easier to turn board around when playing Scrabble..

Surprised it had to travel so far to get here but now it's here it is already getting lots of use.The system is ok but because the nodes are made of hard rounded plastic the tiles can struggle to fit in and can be dislodged easily so not brilliant. Add to this a lack of data on tile numbers and a small neck to the tile bag and you can perhaps sense a little disappointment.

Any Scrabble enthusiast will have at one time or another become frustrated by the editions where the tiles move around, where the cat can walk over the board when you are one round from the end etc. So the idea of a version with slots fills a much needed demand. I have an old Travel Scrabble which is ideal as the letters literally slot into the board and you can overturn it.This one is a disappointment. Even the box is not designed in the normal way and once you have opened it is liable to break quickly. It is better than nothing in that the design of the board restrains the letters somewhat but they don't slot in and lock. The product looks cheap in every respect, the tiles are smaller than the standard ones and there is poor colour variation between the double and treble blue squares. It is overall smaller than the standard which means that the letter holders are smaller. The only thing about it that is not cheap is the price at £30.

Bought this set as it was on offer to replace our 30 year old set which had a missing letter. Tile lock idea seemed good, but the plastic tiles didn't easily fit into the board and didn't really lock! The set is smaller than our original one, and doesn't even come with a score pad. The whole thing just seemed cheap-looking and poor quality for something that cost £30 when on sale. We returned it and bought missing letters from ebay for our old set.Very disappointing, seem to be trading on the brand name to provide a cheap product at high price.

Well made game. Use this for playing with my elderly mother who finds sitting up at a table to play Scrabble quite hard. With this set we can play on a laptray and the pieces stay in place well. Now means that we can increase the range of word games that we can play together when I visit. Great success.

We have been using an old fashioned travel scrabble where the tiles fit in easily. We bought this one thinking it would be the same only bigger. Certainly the board and tiles are bigger, but the tiles are more difficult to place on the board and have a habit of jumping out. We used the old set of a plane but there is no way that this set would be suitable as we would be losing the tiles on the floor. We think if is expensive for what it is.

I bought it for my older two kids for them to learn new words in English will having fun. Great board game for the family.

This Scrabble is smaller than the regular size which is an advantage if traveling and tiles stay put.Great for home with smaller tables.Very pleased
