Awesome Ultra Short Throw Projector
I just had my home theater upgraded but I originally planned to purchase a long throw projector with a motorized screen that hangs from the ceiling. I contacted a local company that specializes in home theaters and during my initial site visit, the owner of the company didn't recommend this, due to the size of my room and would be too costly to run HDMI cables and mounting the projector my ceiling; he suggested for me to purchase a 75 inch TV. I just happened to do a search on the cost of Ultra Short Throw Projectors and the Hisense PL1 was listed first and the price wasn't that expensive, less than $2000.00. My 55 inch TV is a Hisense and it's an awesome TV and I'm familiar with the functionality, therefore I decided to purchase the PL1. I could barely see the laser lights projecting my images to my screen. BTW I have a 100 inch ALR 16:9 projector screen, which I highly recommend. The picture is beautiful and bright, much better than my 55 inch, which I moved to my bedroom. Watching movies are so immersive, it feels like I'm in a commercial movie theater. Because of my Hisense PL1 projector, I have a true home theater!!

Great Projector!
I have this PX1 paired with a Paris Rhone 100" UST screen with a 0.6 gain. Does ok with some ambient light but really needs to be in a light controled room. The projector itself is only 2K lumens and with the negative screen gain works out to about 1200 lumens. I will say that in a dark room, it's plenty bright and I don't like searingly bright TVs anyway. Colors are fairly accurate as well. Where this projector really shines is contrast, which I feel is fantastic. No issues with the Android operating system that I've noticed. Sound is ok, but I'm adding an Atmos soundbar anyway so I'm not going to be critical of the built in speakers. I've also added some 6500K bias lighting around the back of the frame and I think looks great. Overall I'm very happy with the projector.

Excellent ust projector in its class for its price for a room with no Ambient light
I bought this PX1 after a lot of research for my media room which is a dark room with no ambient light and dark walls. Am impressed by this projector and its quality on a simple 120 inch screen. I am using a standard white screen from best buy and not a ALR screen and the image is impeccable. This is an excellent product for its price and works very well with a standard screen. With the light on obviously there is loss of quality due to lighting as its a 2000 lumens bulb. But its excellent for my media room with no other ambient light or windows.

Dead pixel very shortly after buying, poor service from Hisense
I did review this with more stars right after I bought it. But I bought this about a year ago. A pixel right in the middle of the screen died and now everything I watch has a white spot right in the middle. Super annoying. There was no reason for this, just happened. So I sent a warranty claim as it’s something this should cover. Basically they told me that an issue this small isn’t worth servicing. Well it’s pretty much ruined all viewing experience for this system but you know, Hisense says I just have to live with it. Absolutely will not recommend this to anyone looking to get something like I have. More a 1 star for their service than product but will never buy something from them again.

So, I'm new to this projector category and coming from a Sony Bravia 65" 4K. I have always had a TV and thought this would be a great way to eliminate a black screen from my living room. I returned this device after 48 hours of use. For context, I work in the design field. I watch films, live sports and game on a PS5. I understand what a good image looks like as well as audiophile-quality audio. Here is my experience. Out of box: The projector is a small enough foot print and made of mostly plastic. The documentation across the board is really poorly done. I will explain more throughout, but the start guide and organization of accessories is not well thought out. Set up: The projector turned on and there were like 25 steps for signing in, getting connected, etc. This was normal, but the initial set up for geometry was daunting. The "auto geometry" mode was poorly written and didn't make a lot of sense. I struggled at first with portrait vs landscape photos. It's not that intuitive. HiSense should hire a writer who can walk through and clearly explain the process. Manual geometry also took up a lot of my weekend. Some straight lines looked wavy to me after 24 hours and I had to go back through the process. Also, color modes and motion settings were not easy to pin down. I felt like I could spend months tweaking these settings or hiring a pro to come in and figure this out. The downside to this is if someone moves this device ever-so-slightly, you have to revisit the above. Also, getting the image to be sharp took time and I failed at this a lot. I would have liked to sharpen the image against what I'm watching vs. HiSenses terrible image of small text. I'm not sure what they were thinking when they decided to just have up and down buttons with no labels for which way you were sharpening/unsharpening. The picture: Overall, it was bright even during the day with some ambient room light. I shut a bunch of "auto" settings off and turned them back on as documentation is not that great and after searching for lots of configuration videos and reddit info, I couldn't find the sweet spot. Icons, text and chyrons were not as sharp as I expected them or liked them to be. Some films looked great; I blew through key scenes of Dune, The French Dispatch, live TV and a pre-recorded basketball game. My PS5 experience was not great. I looked at God of War Ragnarok and the motion was awful. In fact, I could not get any FPS or third-person games to not have motion issues. I tried every recommendation for HiSense and in-game and just couldn't get it right. Colors were also an issue, but not a dealbreaker for me. Whether it's a 120hz issue or not, this felt really off from games I play normally. These are casual games from Ubisoft, Blizzard, and Sony. The remote: You've probably read this already, but it's not backlit. It feels very cheap in the hand and I'd recommend getting a better android BT remote if you decide to keep this unit. Android TV experience: I'm coming from a Sony android TV experience, and this is not on par with that. This does not come with Netflix and I did not look into downloading it. Sound: I'm coming from a sonos arc sound bar. The audio from the HiSense is not great in comparison. I think the lack of ports on the back will become an issue if you are adding an Apple TV or something to the mix. Overall, I'd like to revisit buying one of these in the future, but I don't see it happening until 120hz is solved for as well as better instructions and recommendations for DIYers. like myself. I did not like the experience for setting up and feeling like I'm never going to find the sweet spot for getting motion/colors/clarity resolved across streaming/gaming/and dedicated 4K films. I switched my 4k TV back on right after packing up this device and it just feels right. A larger OLED might be my next best option. Thanks for reading.

Amazing picture quality, video shot on white wall. I have the projector screen as well just need to make time. I don't use the internal speakers but there are pretty loud. In the video I'm using a sounds bar.

I never usually write reviews unless the product is really unique and offers value in terms of price and features., but this one begs to be written about. As an avid home theatre enthusiast I’ve owned a bunch of big brand name projectors so for me to venture into an all new projector territory with new features and company I’ve never heard of before was a huge step. I ordered the px1 pro and all the features you’ve read about are true. This pricier has truly an amazing picture. The one I receive had an issue so I had to send it back and ordered another one which Amazon was nice enough to acknowledge. However the issue minor in most cases and only noticeable by an enthusiast is something that bothered me and I tired calling their customer service. At first I didn’t get a proper answer but the customer support person on the phone opened a ticket and was nice enough to let me know that the next steps may involve a Hisense tech looking into the matter. I wasn’t expecting much from their customer support but I was truly surprised when their tech manager (Laurie) called me personally and assured me they would look into the matter and even send a tech to my house to take a look into the matter at my convenience. 2 days later Fei and Zam 2 techs dropped by and the adjusted the projector and checks everything which seems fine but the issue was still evident so they offered to take the projector to their head office and check by projecting the image on their screens. They offered me to come with them so I can be assured that the projector was being carefully handed. They did a few custom settings and took the time to explain the issue and it was resolved. Rest assured Hisense has new management (which is what I was also told by the tech manager Laurie ) and their focus is purely customer centric. It shows. I’m truly pleased with the level of support and customer service by Hisense tech (Laurie, Fei and Zam) and this product itself is awesome! As an avid gamer, movie lover and home theatre enthusiast this projector fits the bill and Hisense customer support has gained a customer for life!

I went from a BenQ short throw projector to this Laser Ultra short throw projector and I could not be happier! I picked up this one as well as the optoma Cinemax d2. I plugged them in and watched the same source... on all three. My 1080p BenQ looked good and the Optoma Cinemax D2 looked better but this projector blew those two out of the water! Out of the box this one was much more clear and crisp. There is a significant size difference between this one and the Optoma Cinemax D2. This unit is smaller and takes up a much better footprint. Calibrating the screen was relatively easy and I'm getting a 120 inch projection at about 18 in or so from the wall. The most difficult part is the color calibration. The best thing to do is go on YouTube and look at some of the videos for calibrating there. Once it is calibrated it is hands down my favorite projector. I can watch it in a room with the curtains open and experience minimal washout of colour. It absolutely looks way better in a dark room but it is definitely watchable with ambient daytime light.

I don’t always write reviews but I must say I’m very happy with my purchase, image quality is very good, paired this with a 90” ALR screen and Apple TV and I am more the satisfied. Setup takes a little patience to get ever dialed in, but one that is done you just sit back and enjoy, definitely a huge upgrade from a 60” TV I owned for many years. I can’t think of many features that are missing from this UST. Would definitely suggest this to anyone, however I believe a good screen is key. Got mine from overseas for a fraction of the price.

I had this for a year and it now has a white dot in the upper right corner. Do not buy!
