Ten powerful ports in a very small package
The first thing I noticed was how small the Throncom switch is that it is very small. The 10 Gigabit ports are arranged in two rows and it fits into my hand easily. The body is rugged and full metal which helps in dissipating heat. I tested this on the bench and will move it to a remote closet to test it in the harsh conditions of the shop floor. The switch has a DIN rail mount at the back but does not come with the wall mount bracket. This is not a problem because I have spare brackets. I like the green redundant power input at the top of the switch which allows me to connect this switch to a power distribution box in the same closet. The product documentation said that each of the 10 ports can be used as the uplink port and I tested each one of them against the other 9 using my laptop. I conducted speed tests and some online videos to confirm the network traffic is smooth. My ISP gives me approximately 380Mbps download and 12Mbps upload speeds. My test table shows that the average of all 90 tests is very close to the speeds I get at the firewall/router. I like the Throncom switch and will be using it in projects where there is a need for many network devices in a shop floor.

No Issues So Far
Setting up cameras on my parents barn due to some vandalism they've recently experienced, needed a sturdy affordable switch able to survive outdoors, it's in the barn so it's out of direct sunlight but heat and cold are unavoidable. Been up for a few weeks now with a fiber inlet, 1 poe camera and 1 poe wifi unifi dongle, no issues so far. Hasn't yet been through the rigors of the heights of summer but it's been high 80s for awhile now, thermometer I have inside the enclosure says it gets about 8ish degrees hotter in there than outside ambient temperatures, no issues so far with high 90s inside the enclosure, though the box is rated to 170F I believe so should always be well within operating parameters. Aside from that, switch is very small, has a din rail mount, looks nice, and has a sturdy outer shell, nothing to complain about Will update if there are ever any future issues

Did not last 6 months
Purchased 5 of these switches and they have been in service for 5 months and 4 of the 5 have failed.

Barely ok if its the only switch in a network
This thing is a workhorse. I have it in my attic and it feeds all of my Poe cameras. The hardware is great but the firmware is not. It will do trunking and separate vlans but not in an intuitive way. I have a background in networking was able to achieve the results I desired however I do feel that then opening up the firmware to open source would alleviate a lot of these problems. I don't think many people will be able to achieve what I did unless they have a lot of technical knowledge Update 22NOV2025 (reduction to 3 star) The firmware is very outdated. I have had issues that cause me to powercycle it every 3 or so days. I dug into my network logs and found that this switch is trying to be "Master" of my network (BPDU packets transmitted by the Switch claim that it is the Root Bridge for your network's Spanning Tree topology. ) It also has a incorrectly sized ping packet. These are most likely due to either falty firmware, or the extremely outed nature of the the firmware. There is no place I can find to download firmware to correct it. If its the only thing you use in your network then maybe its ok, if not then you will have problems. Im going to attempt a factory rest in hopes that the factory firmware is not faulty too. Agin, IF THE MANUFACTURE WOULD PROVIDE UPDATED FIRMWARE (or better yet, open source firmware) I would give this a 5 star. Update 4DEC2025 (Increase to 4 star) The seller work with me and contacted the manufacturer. They were unable to correct the problem or provide the firmware replacement. But the seller did do a full refund after vaginally trying to solve the problem. I would definitely do business with this seller again. I wish the product had worked however the icmp packets are the wrong size and Trigger spanning tree protocol as well as broadcast storms in the network. This will not be a problem if this is your only switch. It will almost certainly be a problem if you added to another system. This is my fault of the seller but the manufacturer

Just what I needed...
I was looking for a 10 port switch that was industrial with low power consumption and decided with this one. It's very light, very low wattage and has the power that comes with a secondary option if something Happens. If you are looking for a great switch that can take a beating go for this one.

Great Industrial DC Switch
I was in need of another one of these switches for my off-grid projects. It is able to handle the data I need and in the weather temps it must go through. So far I’m very happy with this product. Would suggest if you need something for your stuff in the same scenarios.

It has Failed
Worked like expected, until recently. Noticed slow and corrupted data on 2 ports. Now most of the ports have failed. Slow data transmission on most ports. Warranty?
