This product works well on my shed which has plywood sheeting allowing our cat access to get out of the weather since he is mostly an outdoor cat. It installed easily although the instructions and template weren't overly helpful. The door functions well.

Works great, especially for the price! I got this for $9.99, as a solution for my cat who likes to go down into our unfinished basement to explore. I don't like having to keep the door to the basement open all the time because it lets cold air in, etc. With this solution, I can keep the main door closed, but my cat can come and go freely. I am grateful to the other reviewer who mentioned the magnet issue. Mine came with two little magnets, but they were not secured, so they popped out all the time. Thanks to that reviewer, I knew to be alert to this, and I determined that the cat door has two little compartments for the magnets: one on the bottom of the door flap, and one in the frame. You need one magnet in each, oriented so they attract toward each other, so that the door will flap down and stay centered in the frame between uses. However, you need to secure the magnets in their compartments, as otherwise they are strong enough that they will pull each other out. I ended up using super glue to secure them into their compartments (again confirming the correct orientation first!) and it works great now. Interestingly, the back of this door frame has no function. It attaches with its own separate screws, and has no role in the door function. I guess they figure it just looks better than having a sawed hole in the door on that side. But fyi, even if your door is thicker than the suggested door width, the door will still work, because all of the function is contained in the front panel. Interestingly, my door was within the suggested width (it's 5/8" wide -- see photo showing door width), yet there is a gap between the front frame and back frame where you can see the sawed hole of the door. Not a big deal at all. It's because there's no tunnel on this door-- just the front panel and back panel. I definitely recommend for the price point!

Well made, easy install and looks good. Keep in mind this is designed to be installed through thin material such as a plexiglass panel. Screws seemed to be of poor quality so I used my own.

Solid high quality cat door. Good for large and small cats. Won’t pinch a tail and is not too heavy to push open. It has a nice feature to lock the door to keep cats from going in or out depending on what you want. Looks nice and I’m very happy.

My use may be a little unconventional BUT I installed this pet door into a window fitted alas of wood and in fact put it in my window so that my cat could come and go with lesser disturbances for me (he used to cry and cry and the door at all hours and drive me nuts) problem solved! Now my cat is pretty fat (and spoiled if you couldn’t tell) so I had to get the largest option which the size was perfect. However if you were using this for a dog I think that the largest dog breed that could fit through the largest door option would be like a “larger” smaller dog breed (terriers, weenie dog, King Charles spaniel, and all varieties of chihuahua) For me it was easy to install but depending on your experience it could be harder for you to do. As for the quality and design for the door. Yikes. I’ve had this doggie door installed for almost two years and let me tell you it has fallen apart. The locks on both sides were busted out within the first year from the wind and use of my CAT. I emphasize that because I think I dog could do more damage than a cat. The magnets are ok but when wind is over 20mph the door will flap open. I have this pet door going out into a pet inclosure outside. So if you need a dependable lock this one is not for you. This was the cheapest pet door I could find and for what I needed it does as intended so overall I’m content

Great cat door! Works well and was a great price.

I had an issue with mine where I couldn’t put it to a specific setting because the glue was blocking it from switching to that side, but after grabbing a knife and tripping the glue away, it works perfectly. It was easy to install, and it is weatherproof if you do it well. It’s the perfect size for an average size cat and it looks great when installed on my window.
