Really like this OXO pour over system.
Already had the plastic one but had no carafe. Like the idea its glass instead of plastic and not disappointed. Easy clean up and it looks nice on the table. Coffee stays hot for a little while so don't wait too long to drink the second cup. Love OXO products and they stand behind their quality.

Better than Chemex
Amazing brewer that is easy to clean and can be used for single mug brewing. Ignore the reviews that mention the filters no longer being available, you don't need the original filters. Melitta #4 filters work perfectly fine with a little fold and are far less expensive and widely available virtually anywhere. This brewer is durable for the material used and the insulated carafe works well enough to keep coffee warm for up to an hour. Can also be filled right to the top. An excellent alternative to a Chemex and I'm glad I went with this option instead. See the pics for what it looks like in action with the Melitta filters!

Awesome
I was originally planning on getting a Chemex but decided to get this instead for two main reasons: reviews saying it was easy to clean and reviews saying that the double glass walls provided good insulation. I have had this product for almost two months and both of those statements are true. I absolutely love it. It is very easy to clean (I don't have a dishwasher so I hand wash) and the insulation is fantastic. I also like that the glass cone can be used directly with a cup (with rim diameter of 3"-5").Regarding 'plastic' pieces. If you want something that is 100% 'plastic' free then this is not the product for you. Under the stainless steel rim there is some silicone. It does not come into contact with the coffee and seems to provide protection for contact with the carafe, counter and cups, but it is there.Regarding filters. The filters that come with the set are fine, but are also rather expensive. I have been using store bought #4 cone filters. As you can see in the photo they do not fit perfectly (I have to make a small fold), they work just fine. The only negative things I have to say about this product: the 'OXO' decals mar an otherwise very attractive product and I wish it was just a little larger (I just have to brew more coffee!).Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Great System Despite Discontinued Filters
I am somewhat of a coffee scientist in the sense that I am always tweaking the variables of my daily pour-over. I use a consistent, above average grinder for my beans, a precise digital scale to weigh them, and an electric kettle with digital thermometer readout. Depending on the roast of the coffee, I tweak the three aforementioned variables.I have used a few pour over sets in the past (a plastic Melitta as well as a Chemex) and I have to say that this set functions just as well, if not better, than past sets I've used. The pour over funnel itself is fragile (I accidentally broke it while hand washing dishes and got another) but it works well. The set is easy to clean and makes delicious coffee if you know what you are doing with a pour over. There is one issue that does exist. The filters that come with the set have been discontinued and I have yet to come across them online. I did go to a local coffee shop and got a small assurance that they could find them for me through their distributor, but that is still up in the air. I saved the last filter so that I can cross reference it in stores and online but in the meantime I've used pretty much any filter I've come across and they all suffice.

Great Quality Filters
Great unbleached coffee filters! They are strong & never fall apart. I like the sturdy cardboard box/packaging for storage as I don't use these every day. Good value from a quality brand.

Filters Discontinued
Nice coffee maker until Oxo discontinued the manufacture of their proprietary filters. Called Oxo and after much explanation of the problem and a belligerent customer assistant telling me that Oxo doesn't make their own filters and that a standard#2 is what they recommend, I was told by that person's supervisor that they had indeed discontinued the filters. They still sell the set, so be aware that you'll have to buy filters that don't quite fit.

Not as good as Blue Bottle filters
I use a Blue bottle pour-over and those filters are fairly expensive. Decided to try these as a replacement. These are the right size and properly fluted and fit perfectly in the blue bottle dripper - but that is where is where it ends. They are not as robust as the blue bottle filters and they sag and deform in use. They still work, but the flow rate and ultimately the taste of the finished cup are just not as good.Bottom line - they work, but Blue Bottle makes a better filter.

Easy-to-clean chemistry set
Overall aesthetic is chemistry set. Coffee contacts only glass. Glass dripper securely sits in base ring which has a silicone insert for stability on top of the pitcher. Dripper disconnects from base ring for easy cleaning. Pitcher adequately retains heat and pours well. Preparing two 12 oz. cups of coffee sets up a gradient in the pitcher, so either stir before pouring or alternate pour between cups.
