So grateful to have found these finger braces!
My therapist at Cleveland Clinic gave me one to try for my trigger finger. It’s so helpful when I torque my finger painfully and for sleeping.. I don’t wear it all the time, just when I bend my finger wrong or when it gets sore from my rug hooking craft and sleeping. As my finger has been swelling I’ve ordered a size up. I ordered a 5-pack of the best size for my sausage fingers, size 11 to have one in my purse, night stand, side stand and in case the cats get ahold of them. The brace isn’t tight but doesn’t fall off. It’s a life saver and I’m not allergic to them I am with the foamy type ones. Over time my finger/hand broke out in an ease from using those. I highly recommend these Oval-8 Finger Splints. Told my neighbor about them since has trigger finger also and she loves her splint also!

Great splint with low profile
Had climber's finger on my middle fingers and used this to straighten it out. Works very well, there was discomfort but that’s expected. Make sure to measure and size correctly around the knuckle. So far has been sturdy, have worn to sleep without any cracking or breaking.

effective - yet overpriced
7/18/14 It is comfortable once you figure out how to wear it - but no more so than other more traditional splints. And if your finger is swollen it is actually less comfortable than a full finger length splint. There are no instructions included whatsoever and worse...the illustration you see here has the user wearing it backwards. Its a plastic loop that arrives in a plastic baggie. Maybe there is a total of 39 cents worth of plastic in this product....but it is effective and is an aid to my trigger finger issues once the swelling subsides and I can wear it. I'm suffering through my third bout of trigger finger - in three different fingers. I had surgery on one, have had the second heal by way of natural anti-inflammatory herb formulas (Curamin, Penetrex and Zyflamend) and exercise. Experiencing flare up in index finger of right hand currently. Wear this at night especially while sleeping. Be patient it can take weeks. This item is probably best utilized after starting with full length finger splint during acute phase of trigger finger. Once you reduce swelling with natural anti-inflammation products suggested above, and cold therapy wrap ( Torex Professional Hot and Cold Therapy Roll on Finger Sleeves Universal size. you could use the Oval 8 splint for the healing phase. It is small and unobtrusive...much less than full length splint. Two star penalty for zero instructional assistance from the manufacturer and overpricing the product. You can get cheaper splints at local drug store that are just as effective and are adjustable (this oval 8 is not) but more bulky at less than half the price, And indeed you can use simple Scotch tape around the middle joint of the injured finger in a pinch. As long as it immobilizes finger from bending it will provide the rest needed for healing. Comfort level is good and while 12 bucks isn't a fortune in general - for a plastic loop its excessive. Update: 8/1/14 I now have two of these expensive plastic loops. Why? Well it does work - thats why I bought another one in spite of the 3 star rating. However, the design is such that you need an extra large while your finger is swollen and a smaller one once the swelling subsides. This is essentially a ring with an extended oval loop that creates the support and prevents you from bending your finger....so you can rest the tendons. Ever try to slide a ring off and on when your finger is swollen? Yeah...so you're likely going to need two of them. I have a ringer finger size of around 10-10.5. I'm now wearing a size 13 splint and have a size 12 (the original I purchased) that I'll wear once my swelling diminishes. The original I bought in a size 12 actually increased the swelling as I squeezed my finger through the ring. The size 13 is much more comfortable during this period of tenderness and swelling, but will all but fall off afterwards. And, an acute trigger finger injury can take weeks so I still need the support. Enter the size 12 loop to take me through the second phase of reduced swelling but continued rest therapy. So, I now have $23 invested in 78 cents worth of plastic. The darn thing works but if you follow that logic (hey it works so who cares how much it costs...) then why stop at $11.50? Charge us $20 a piece or more....hey it works!? Bottom line: an over-priced solution to trigger finger therapy...but a solution nevertheless.

Nearly perfect, works as advertised.
Really a neat invention. I followed the measurement instructions for sizing and the splint fits perfectly. I wear it every night, and have no problems with it coming off or interfering with sleep. No more curled, cramped finger upon waking. I would have given it 5 stars except that it basically works only on the middle joint and allows the last joint toward the end of my finger to bend, which it does. I would buy another one like this if needed for another finger, and also would replace this one if they make one that immobilized both joints.

No overnight pain
Yes comfortable bracing for overnight use. Unfortunately , My trigger thumbs are super painful when not wearing the braces , but at night they are stabilized and painless. I would not be able to wear the braces during the day because I need to be able to bend my thumbs so I am not dropping everything . This product works as advertised .

Oval-8 splint is well worth the $10.00
I've had trigger-finger for about a month in my middle finger. Tried a lot of different things including tape and conventional splints. I write code for a living so the splints and tape were not working for me, so thought I'd drop ching on the Oval-8. It's well worth the money. After a couple weeks of wearing this the swelling has gone down considerably and I'm able to make a loose fist without any 'clicking'. I'd buy another one of these without flinching. For sizing, I went with the a crap-shoot. I wear a size 10 ring on my ring finger so figured the size 12 was probably my best shot and as it turns out, fits very well. I don't know what the "sizing kit" is and didn't want to spend extra money if it wasn't going to work out. The "half-size" they mention in the description isn't really useful because the oval-8 splint is tapered to fit on your finger in only one direction. Yeah, you can turn it around and get a tighter fit, but then the edge of the tapered ring digs into your finger and gets really uncomfortable after a 10 or 15 mins. something I don't want to wear for an extended period. If you don't want to drop ching on the sizing kit, I would suggest ordering big and wrapping athletic tape around the ring part to take up the extra space. All-in-all a really great product. I'm pleased with it.
