Reef Ready, Blue/White Controllable, & Dimmable- Perfect Entry Level LED Lights
The media could not be loaded. Overall, I wish I could give this light a 4.5 stars. The build quality is great, customer service responds quickly, the included hanging kit is a great touch... But the white color spectrum could be improved. Let's dive in.Pros:- Affordable- Included Mounting Kit- Sleek Metal Casing With Company Name Cut Out- Blues/Whites Can Be Individually Controlled- Dimmable from 0-100%Cons:- Too Heavy On The Greens/Reds- Not Programmable- Mounting Kit Not AdjustableLet's start with the pros. Five years ago it would have been impossible to find a saltwater aquarium LED light capable of growing LPS and SPS coral, and the fact that you can pick this up for under $90 is somewhat miraculous. Especially so when you consider something like an Ecotech XR15 (granted it has more features), costs over $400.Even the expensive LED lights don't come with a mounting kit, even though the companies know every person will need to mount them somehow. Having simple mounting kit included is a nice touch. But there are two issues with the mounting kit. Firstly, all four wires come together into a single carabiner which means it is darn near impossible to control its horizontal spinning. And the second issue is that the mounting kit is not adjustable, so you will likely have to jerry-rig something yourself.I have owned other budget “Chinese Black Box” lights, and they often come with a cheap sticker that you can tell they just slapped on. The not the Luxbird. They obviously manufacture their own product as showcased by the logo name being cut out of the side. It’s a nice touch. It is easy to use, and it’s pretty much standard now to be able to control the blues/whites separately. While it is impossible to find a programmable light fixture at this price point, all you need to do is pick up a cheap timer and viola, you have just automated your lights. The biggest downside of this light for me is the spectrum. Blues are blues so you can’t really go wrong there. But sometimes I want to have my whites on for photos and videos, but this Luxbird fixture is too heavy on the reds and greens and it is noticeable. I don’t think a beginner would necessarily notice, but a couple tweaks of their fixture would help.Would I recommend the Luxbird LED Lights? Yes, absolutely. I think they are perfect for a budget conscience beginner or an experienced hobbyist looking for a quarantine tank light.Happy Reefing!

Great light for the price!
Great light, has grown all of my corals from mushrooms and zoas to torches and hammers and up to acros and montis! Works great with a simple plug timer to create an easy to use programmable light schedule. You're not going to get a better spread or spectrum at this price point!
