Best bang for your buck
These are quality taps and dies that will work for most applications. The metal box should last a long time. The plastic inserts could be more durable. Orion customer service is excellent.

Good enough
I needed a set that included small metric fasteners. Since I only have need for taps/dies maybe a couple of times a year, I couldn't justify a professional level set. Yes, the case layout is inconvenient and the trays are flimsy , and as with all cheap sets, the handles are not of high quality, but I used the set within hours of receiving it to clean up a cross-threaded M4x.7 screw and internal threads quickly. Now that I have all the taps sorted into their proper slots, I'll CAREFULLY lay this on the shelf flat so they stay put. (About half were loose in the case from shipping when I received them.)

Just what the doctor ordered
This is a decent set for all the rap and die needs that I have. The few dues I had were not big enough, and for price, I went for this set. Not disappointed. It even came with 2 extra pieces I was not expecting, nice surprise. Used a die on a 3/8” steel rod I needed threaded. Worked great.

A compromise for those who want to be prepared by having a broad assortment
I needed an M8x1.25 tap, and hated the thought of buying a single tap bit and subsequently losing it, only to have to buy another down the road. The cases work well enough to keep all your taps and dies organized and easy to find in a cluttered garage. Assortment is quite good for the price. I’m well aware you get what you pay for, and these probably won’t hold up to strenuous use, but they did work to repair a damaged steel stud in aluminum I had mostly drilled out.Be warned, the T handles that I received in this set were borderline worse than useless. They have so much play in them and no way to tighten with a cross bar. Even after using a set of vice-grips to tighten them down, they hopped around the tap mockingly and even became frozen in their bizarre, cocked alignment. Thankfully I own an old set of Irwin T handles that completed the job. Unfortunately, I now have to carry the Orion bit sets AND Irwin handles separately to any job I need them on, as the nicer handles do not fit in the supplied box.Bottom line, buy this set for occasional light duty work on a budget, and be prepared to buy a quality bit and die T handle from a name brand manufacturer at the same time. If you need to complete an expensive, tough repair, you should probably buy a single, high quality tap instead.

Decent toolkit for the price.
Quality tools so far. I re-tapped my exhaust Manifold stud holes. And some nuts and bolts. It works as it should

Did the job, has some drawbacks
I get a bit detailed here but you might learn something about this set. I needed to tap some thin bar stock for a repair. I never had a complete set of taps and dies since when I was in the automotive and heavy equipment repair fields the different shops I worked in bought them for us. That is definitely unusual in most shops. Since I had experience but didn't want to break the bank I was looking for an inexpensive fairly complete set of metric and SAE threading tools. This kit came highly reviewed here but is not a top quality one, as some others said the tap handle is loose and I reckon the die handle would be too. The carrying cases will keep the components in the box but they don't snap in place; keep the thin sheet of foam so the case holds the components in better than it would without. I'm thinking about gluing the foam to the lid. There is no tap and drill chart nor a chart for cutting threads on bar stock included so you have to look it up elsewhere, and you do need to have a good 115-piece lettered, numbered and fractionated drill bit set to complete a quality job. For example, the 5/16 by 18 tap requires a letter F drill bit to complete a quality 75% thread cut. I feel that would hold thread locking compound if needed. The only pipe thread tap and die in the SAE set is 1/8 NPT, it would be nice if it included at least a 1/4 NPT set. The 5/16 by 18 tap doesn't have the size printed on it (I haven't examined the rest of the sizes) but experience helped. There are no bottoming taps included so the set wouldn't work well for blind holes. If you don't force it, countersink the threads a bit (I used a 5/8 bit by teasing my drill trigger) to clear away burrs and add some relief to make threading the bolt easier, work with nothing harder than mild steel, use plenty of oil (It didn't take a crazy amount) and turn back and forth regularly (sometimes meeding a full turn) to clear out the metal chips it'll suit general use.
