Works perfectly and fits inside a “decor” cover
I had to hard wire a light fixture or install a switch in the middle of a wall that would look bizarre. I got this idea of using a remote switch from a ceiling fan that only used a remote to operate. I didn’t even know they made a remote only switch. Thank goodness for Amazon! Easy hook up. 3-wires, neutral white to neutral on fixture and neutral from electrical box, blue to fixture, red to black power line from electrical box. It comes with its own magnetic base and cover, but I used a a standard decor double switch cover to keep things tidy. I could recess it to make it flush with the cover but for now, it works and looks fantastic! The remote switch is held in place with a magnet and uses a standard CR2030 battery. Love it!

Works well for what I needed
As others stated... often loses connection to Alexa but I really just use it with the wireless switch included. If I was going to use it as a "smart" light controller I would have given it a lower rating.

Was satisfied with purchase but part is defective after over a month
I was pleased with my purchase at the beginning. I had bought this device for a client of mine to control her recessed lighting that I installed. Everything worked fine, the couple was an elder couple that doesn’t have much knowledge about technology and electrical devices. I bought this so I didn’t have to route a hardwire switch. After installing it, it worked perFectly fine until a little over a month. After returning from their vacation I stopped by to take a look at it. Thought they didn’t know how to use it, and must’ve forgotten which buttons were which and couldn’t turn it on. I tried turning it on with the remote control. Sure enough the device was defective. I would pPAIR it up, it would work but 30 minutes later, it would lose its signal to the receiver and stopped Pairing and wouldn’t work. I tried disconnecting the power. Pair it several times but I would get the same results.I looked twice at the wiring, it was wired properly and couldn’t find anything wrong with it and determined that the problem was the device. 30 days after the return window and no way to contact the seller for some tech support. Disappointed.

Works with RF remote and Alexa
Came paired with remote. Attempted to connect via several Alexa devices with no luck.Edit: Updating my review. The seller provided a replacement. The replacement works with Alexa!! Great help from the seller, thank you!!!

Great addition to my smart home lineup!
Takes some DIY skills as this is meant to wired into a circuit. However, it is not a daunting task and is a much cheaper alternative to a similar well known brand. Would buy again!

Same concept you'd find in a fan remote AND YES, IT'LL WORK WITHOUT AN ALEXA
If you've installed a ceiling fan lately AND it came with a remote...this is pretty much the same thing. It comes with a receiver you wire in-between the light fixture and the power lines (hot/neutral) going to the fixture. You can locate it in the light canopy or inside the conduit box. An included wireless remote activates the receiver. (on/off or dim) The ability to control the light through an Alexa device is optional. You can even use it on an existing ceiling fan to control/dim the light. JUST THE LIGHT It won't handle the load of the fan motor.Fairly straight forward and easy to install as long as you have room for the receiver. The remote works well. I haven't paired it with my Alexa, so I can;t speak to that. Decent price for a wireless dimmer. Mine is still working after 3 months

Great for low wattage
I needed to replace a ceiling fan light fixture that had stopped working. There was no wall switch for the fixture, it had always been operated by pull cords on the fixture. This remote was perfect for a non-electrician fix, and relatively easy to wire in, once I was able to 100% identify live vs neutral wires in the older wiring of my home and the older wiring of the vintage chandelier I installed. With all of the incandescent “candle” lightbulbs in the chandelier (12 total), the light fixture was flickering uncontrollably. I turned off the power again at the breaker box and did some research. Turns out, this remote can only handle 2 amps. The combined amperage of all 12 bulbs was 4. I unscrewed six of the bulbs and the fixture has not flickered since.I’m still looking for warm light, lower wattage incandescent candle style bulbs, or a remote that can hire handle higher amperage. With LED’s it would probably work fine. The dimmer feature is nice for adjustable lighting, and I plan to install the remote in a double gang switch cover (need to get one, first!). The magnetic feature to the remote works well. Will update if it stops working!
