Very good quality, easy to fit.
Very good quality and easy to fit. Bought to replace my original with a broken door due to wind damage and decided to buy a second one to match as it looked so good. The locks, hinges and overall construction are very good quality and the door can be hung to hinge from either side. Also included is a reversible plastic insert to label the box appropriately with an "E" or "G" depending on the service within. When fitting make sure you fit the door so that that the latch is orientated "up" and drops down to lock the door not the other way around as this is why most doors swing open and break... the wind rattles them and eventually the latch drops down to open the door. With it correctly orientated if it rattles in the wind it will only serve to engage the locking bar further so that the wind can't shake the door loose causing it to open. Very easy to fit over the existing old cabinet, just remove the old door leaving the cabinet frame in place and this fits over/around the old one. This does make it slightly larger than the original installation though so if your cabinets are particularly close together or have another obstruction very close by then these may not be suitable but for 99% of the time they will be perfect.

Looks so good
This is so easy to fit and looks so great. Makes the front of the house loom so fresh. Very well made and like the fact it comes with a metal key rather than the usual plastic

Tight fit but a vast improvement on our broken cupboard door. Looks very neat and is easy to open.
Tight fit, looks good, easy to use. They come with an ‘e’ or a ‘g’ on. We ended up with the wrong letter, but weren’t offered a choice. Can be used either way up if you ignore the letter to allow door opening (hinges) from either side.

Don’t fit it upside down!
Yes, you can fit it upside down. I did! In my photo you will see the “gap” or “inset” is at the top in my photo. Make sure you fit it at the BOTTOM. The door catch is designed to work best with this gap at the bottom. Fit it the other way around and the catch can vibrate into the unlocked position. I have rectified this on mine, but learn from my mistake. Other than that, the box is exactly as others say. Easy to fit, looks lovely afterwards. One other thing. If, like me, you have an inset steel electric box with a full length piano hinge on the door, you will need to drill out the rivets that fix the door to the case to remove the old door. When they start to spin, they can be remove by chiselling the last bit off. (Old flat head screwdriver & a hammer). Secondly, you will need to screw two 15mm / 3/4” battens or furring strips on each side of the old box to give you the additional depth you need as those steel boxes are deeper than 66mm. Screw the cover to the strips and seal around with white silicon.

Brilliant, just what I was looking for...
Wish it had been my idea to produce these utility overboxes!! One hour, removed old door (well fell off) a little cutting at the bottom to allow a large pipe containing the mains in, then marked and drilled 6 holes, fitted 6 screws and rawplugs (supplied) a little white silicone around all the edges to seal it and 'hey presto' a new utility box! Excellent product, well designed and constructed - perhaps one could argue a trifle expensive for what it is, but excellent value compared to the cost having to replace the original! My existing utility box was 595mm high, 490mm wide and 210 deep from the front wall. Fitted perfectly. Excellent product - see before and after pictures.

A neat way to cover an exposed supply in my garage
I do not understand why it was acceptable for my garage to have an electric supply with no cover, but that's what I faced when I moved to my house recently. I needed a 60cm tall, 40cm wide and 10cm deep cover with door, and this cover seemed to be just about perfect. I did end up fixing an extra 2cm thick wood perimeter for this cover to attach to, giving me a 12cm depth total. The entire installation took about an hour including the extra wood, so it was quick and easy. I am very happy with the outcome, and no longer worry that my kids will do something dangerous with the exposed supply. Recommended for this type of application. I suspect it also works perfectly for the intended application of covering a damaged supply box.

Easy to fit.
Easy to fit, came with 4 screws and rawl plugs. 6mm masonry drill needed for fitting took around 30 minutes.
