I have four cats. After a few weeks of using this pail, I feel I can do a fairly accurate review of the product. Odour control. It ticks that box. Note, it only says odour control in the wording, not odour eliminating. However, between the cat litter I started using for my cats, and this pail, the odour control is far higher than I expected. It's taller and narrower, rather than shorter and wider. Therefore it fits in the spare I have available far better than any normal kind of bin I've used in the past. So you might want to double check the space you have available against the measurements of the pail. I have four cats. Four indoor cats. The cartridge with the plastic insert is lasting well. I wasn't too sure about how strong it would be just tying knots in the bottom, and once filled, in the top, but surprisingly it's worked fine so far. Indeed, I've had ordinary bin bags give way on more than one occasion compared to this. How long does it take to fill the pail before it requires being emptied? For my four cats, it lasts about seven days before I have to remove the waste, and tie a new knot in the bottom of the plastic to start the process all over again. The downside? The initial outlay is far more than your normal bin from a supermarket. However, it has been pretty well designed and does the job better than a bog-standard bin. The other downside? The cartridge with the plastic interior is a bit expensive in my view, but overall it does the job well so I can kind of look beyond that - for now at least. A little detail is the holder for the litter scoop clips onto the inner edge of the pail, and is easy to remove so you can keep it clean. Plus, the top where the plastic doesn't cover is also easy to wipe down with an appropriate cleaner, so it all helps contain those odours to which I referred. Would I recommend this product? Actually, yes I would. I thought it might be far more of a gimmick than a serious piece of animal husbandry, but it definitely isn't a gimmick.

Great product. Best idea for scooped cat litter. I can now scoop the cat litter and not have to make daily trips to the outside bin. No smell s escaping and it holds a substantial amount of used litter.

If you have cats who use an indoor litter box, this will change your life! It’s pricey but worth it - keeps all the smells in and only needs to be changed every 3 or 4 weeks. The bags are expensive too but last a long time and are strong.

Very easy to use and functional. No smell. Tall and easy to clean. Last for 3 weeks before needs emptying.

Tengo dos gatos, y dos cajas de arena, asi que debía eliminar desechos rapidamente para que no se generaran olores. LO QUE MAS ME GUSTO Con este sistema se eficienta el control de los desechos, pues los acumulo por unos 5-6 dias antes de sacarlos y tirarlos. Sella muy bien y no deja salir olores, nada de olores. Es muy facil de poner la bolsa y eliminar los desechos. Aunque saques la bolsa con desechos esta esta muy bien hecha que no permite ningún olor escaparse aun estando afuera del contenedor. Sigo recolectando los desechos igual de rapido, pero no tengo que andar colocándolos en una bolsa y luego en otra y asi para que no generen olores. LO QUE NO ME GUSTO El contenedor es alto y no tiene buen balance. Al moverlo o arrastrarlo es muy normal que debido al peso en la parte superior, este tienda a caerse inclinándose muy facil. Ya supere este problema empujando con el pie de la parte inferior, pero creo que se puede mejorar el diseño. El sistema de corte de bolsa es bueno, pero no siempre funciona correctamente, se tiene en ocasiones que deslizar segmentos de la bolsa y no todo el plastico completo. Es una navaja protegida, pero es cuestión de agarrar maña y ya se soluciona. Aunque me sigue molestando.

So glad it bought one that I bought a second one since I have 2 litter boxes in different areas of the house. Holds a lot, keeps the smell at bay and easy to cut, reload and use. A must buy for cat owners.

I bought this for a friend, so I will share their ideas about it. With two cats, this still performed admirably and made a disgusting chore much easier and tolerable. It's a great concept, really decreases any smell if emptied as specified, and is worth the money unless you just love cleaning out litter boxes. I think it was worth my money since it makes their life so much easier.

This litter genie has literally been a game changer for my boyfriend and I. Having two cats really proves how much you need to clean up. Even after cleaning our litter boxes two times a day, we were still finding it to be a huge pain to continuously use poop bags, or empty pains, or just deal with the smell. That’s when I found the Litter Genie- and I honestly haven’t looked back ever since. Getting the XL size for more than one cat is absolutely the move. It is spacious, the bag refills lasts a long time, and it traps all smell inside. It even has a sleek little spot to put your pooper scooper! Super easy to set up, change the bag out and refill, we usually fill a pail in a week/week and a half. Compared to having to take poop outside every day or every other day, this takes so much stress off our shoulders. Finding the refill bags were easier than I expected. I find the exact ones I need at Canadian Tire for a very reasonable price. We share our love for the litter genie with every cat owner we know- seriously the best amazon purchase of the year!!!
