worst smartlock on the market
I was reluctant to buy a lock without a key but was assured by Yale that these locks are very reliable and I shouldn't be concerned. Two weeks after getting several of these locks, one jammed and had to be forced open. Luckily I had access from the inside in this case. I called Yale to express my concern that I was told this "never happens" yet had EXACTLY what I feared happen in a couple of weeks. This new rep told me I should never install a key-free lock on a room with only one door in case the lock fails, exactly the OPPOSITE advice I'd received from them previously. So I had to return all the locks and reinstall the version with a key, wasting a substantial amount of time. Within a week, I had to start replacing batteries in multiple locks. It often takes upwards of 90 seconds to add or delete a user, and frequently fails and has to be redone. The tamper alarms go off regularly even though nobody has tampered with them. The battery pack is dumb, like a 1980's kid's toy where you have to thread a ribbon behind to get batteries out, or find a screwdriver.Every time I call tech support, I get a runaround or blamed for installing things wrong (which they ultimately confirm is not the case). Getting connected with a supervisor is virtually impossible, and the development team apparently needs to review every issue. I've sent photos, screen recordings, etc. to get the same nonsense answers over and again. In one instance, after waiting for a supervisor call back for a couple of days (which they won't schedule), I got a call at 830p on a Sunday night from a "spam risk" number that turned out to be Yale, followed by an email telling me "they tried". Another time, they sent an email saying they hadn't heard from me and were considering the issue resolved, when I was actually waiting on a call back from them. Finally, after weeks of back and forth, I spoke with Omar who seemed to actually have some understanding of the technology. The solution he proposed was unacceptable--to add wifi bridges to each lock and/or reconfigure my mesh network. He told me "it says on the box" that they only work with 2.4GHz which isn't quite the same as saying "doesn't work with mesh", not to mention there is NOTHING about not working with mesh on their site or in the install pdf.I've had Kwikset locks in another location for 3+ years, and while they're not perfect, I certainly haven't had to fix them or call tech support daily.

Great product
Easy install, guided step by step in the app or with the included paper version.Easy calibration once installed.Easy app set up and operation.Only note I would make is that there is a magnet you can drill a small hole and put in the door frame so the lock will know if the door is open or closed. The measurements there could be better explained, it needs to like up with the Yale logo in the lock unit. Also, the 1/2 inch drill bit they suggest is too small. All in all a great experience!

Real Buttons
We've had other Yale locks and have been happy with them. I was excited to order this one for our back door. I like that it has real buttons instead of a touch screen so you can clearly tell when you have pressed them. The lock was easy to install as it fit into our existing hole. The biggest challenge in the installation was my assumption that we could use the Yale Secure app we use with our previous lock. Once I downloaded the newer Yale Access App the lock was easy to set up.The app took a little while to figure out. I didn't understand immediately that to setup door lock codes I needed to invite guests and codes could be assigned to guests. Once I figured it out it was easy to set the code we usually use for doors. We also had someone watching our pets for the weekend and it was pretty easy to setup a code for our pet sitter that expired when the weekend was over. The lock seems to be well built and I expect it to give us years of use.Overall happy with the "Yale Assure Lock 2 (NEW) with Wi-Fi ; Key-Free Keypad in Bronze".

Great lock, finicky and a little frustrating set up
This is a high quality smart lock that is relatively easy to install, but getting it set up with the app, wifi, user profiles, and associated codes was more frustrating than it needed to be. Even though we were doing everything correctly, it took numerous tries to get the lock to recognize our network, even though we were using the proper 2.4GHz band. Eventually it worked, but it required multiple tries of doing the same thing over again.Same with individual profile codes. We would get errors, but through repeatedly trying again, it eventually worked. Now that it is set up, the lock works beautifully with numerous profiles, both owners and guests.A little frustrating, but worth it.
