Update: vendor replaced with new parts, quickly.I installed this item and found that one of the U shaped arms which hold the cover appeared to be crooked. Upon inspection I found that the hole for the metal button was drilled off-center. this results in the arm appearing tilted roughly 15 degrees from straight. You can see in the first picture of the arm laying flat, that the hole is not level left to right. and the second picture shows how the entire arm is clocked sidewise due to this misalignment.The lifter functions perfectly fine otherwise.

Description says attachment to deck or spa not required, but the instructions clearly state to, and it comes with wood screws for permanent mounting.My gas piston also locked in the fully extended position and I cannot get it to retract. I don’t think there’s a trick to get it to close. So my lift is stuck in the horizontal position and will not fold up!

Just got it, put it together in 10 minutes, lift up the arms and the gas shock locks up… I’m sure there’s a trick to releasing it, but absolutely nothing. The instructions are a simple parts identifier and assembly diagram, but that’s it. So what’s the trick? It looks good, but it’s gotta work…

Like: The way that it hangs up next to the hot tub takes up no room on either side just the back where it’s at and when it’s in use it’s out of the way completely as it lays flat and when using it, it only takes up as much space as the cover!Dislike: the spring in it is pretty strong and I have a bad back and can’t use it. My husband hast to push it down to get it put away when the cover is on both of my son stated that they thought it was too hard to push down.

Nice cover lift for our new hot tub. Tub to be delivered next week, so can't say how well it actually works.Will have to update in a couple of weeks. Did try the pressure lift and seems to be very firm. Should work well.

Put the cover on, bent both arms instantly. Can't support the weight of a hot tub cover.Would not recommend.
