I plan to use this on both a Weber 22 1/2" kettle and 18 WSM, how much do you open the top damper to set it and forget it?

I always leave the top damper open 100%. I've found that I don't need to fine tune the dampers when using this. The bottom dampers are obviously closed, with the exception of the damper the fan is using.

What is the max cook time can expect on an 18" WSM @225 to 250 using briquettes & lump

I have a webber kettle , mine will cook 12 hours at 250..and keep the temperature within 20 degrees...best investment i have made for grilling..

Will this work with a firm smoker

Not sure what a "firm smoker" is . If the smoker is sealed well, pitmaster IQ will regulate the temperature by controlling the air flow.

What are the differences between the 110 and the 120?
