The book is so easy to read and understand if your in the correct mindset. I love this guy's attitude his skills his knowledge So much to learn Plus's so enjoying his utubes too .

Discovered Larry many years ago on a balanced dog forum. He ‘gets’ dogs and is an amazing trainer. This book gives insight into Larry’s life and past dogs. It dispels many myths about electronic collars, but for real jaw dropping stuff his YouTube channel is the place to actually see what he teaches in action. He’s right that the collar is like teaching your dog a new language - it gave me the confidence to use one on my dog in a positive communicative way. People who dismiss their use and think that ecollars are instruments of torture firstly need to understand Operant Conditioning, and secondly the fact there’s many rubbish ecollars out there being misused by people who don’t understand dogs! The modern sophisticated ones have many levels and settings, like the Mini Einstein I have. If you follow Larry’s guide you won’t go wrong and it will enhance the relationship you have with your dog.

Great book and well written.. anyone that really understands how a professional e collar works will enjoy this book.

What I love about Larry Krohn's philosophy is that motivation and positive reinforcment should be used to teach behaviours, and that E-collars are layered in to ensure compliance once excellent foundations have been built. So many owners and "trainers" expect an e-collar to be a magical tool. E-collars will not make inadequate handlers any better, in fact it will make them worse. The first few chapters of the book provides a straightforward explanation on how to "condition" the dog to an e-collar so that they understand the meaning on a stimulation. The rest of the book I glanced over, as it had very little to do with how to use an e-collar and many anecdotes and unexplained claims. I would have appreciated much more behavioural science used with explanations, but I know Krohn isn't that sorta guy. Overall, a straight forward book but not the only resource I would consult before using an e-collar.

A brilliant concise book that tells you everything you need to know about high quality e-collars and the training stages. I would highly recommend this book for use in conjunction with a professionally qualified e-collar trainer. It has transformed my rescue wolfdogs lives and given them the freedom and joy of exploring the countryside they deserve. Only wish I had found this book sooner.

Really found this useful to help condition my dog to the ecollar. Easy to follow each phase of conditioning and the stories were helpful!

Este libro es para una orientación más amplia si empiezas a usar e collar pero creo recomendable que sea como complemento a la dirección de un entrenador canino. Te ayuda a entender mejor el porqué pero no reemplaza al coach. Muy fácil de leer pues lo explica con lenguaje accesible y no tan técnico

Super livre, très utile et assez facile à lire si l’on comprend l’anglais évidemment. Seul petit bémol peut-être, le format un peu grand, mais pas bien gênant

Everyone looking at training their dog should read this book. It not only walks you through learning how to use an e collar, it also teaches you how to navigate foundational training. Read the book and spend some time watching Larry on youtube. Time very well spent!!
