Easy to read and helped bring back my skills years later! Didn’t realize how much I still retained!

This workbook is great for learning and reinforcing hiragana. As you can see in the picture, it has one page to practice the character and a second page that has a list of words with that character that the student needs to search in the word search. I appreciate that it also includes the pronunciation.There is a katakana workbook as well. However I have not been able to find one for Kanji.

I got this to help me learn hiragana. I thought it would be fun, since it is so cute. It is good; however, I am not convinced it is truly helping me learn. I think it needs more practice exercises and opportunities for application.

This is a well made book that was very easy and fun to do with my kids. The illustrations are cute and engaging for my youngest and the content is interesting for my oldest. I like how the words are written in three ways. This can make it useful for us older learners too. The author is a nice guy who I'm looking forward to seeing more books from. Please try this adorable book out so that happens faster!

This is great for learning how to write your characters but some of the translations are incorrect. Kara:means from not empty. Enpistu keshi is pencil eraser.

I found so many mistakes in the hiragana crossword puzzles that I could not in good conscience recommend this workbook. It’s a good effort but it should have had a native Japanese copy editor or proofreader.

this review has nothing to do with the content of the book (i tried a few pages and it's actually pretty good), but the shipment of this item. this book REEKS...a combination of really nasty coffee creamer and cigarette smell. it's like it was steeped in the stuff. the pages didn't seem damaged except the back cover had a crease. but the smell is horrific. and makes it hard to use it.

It has the whole Hiragana alphabet with modifier characters in the backIt also has word searches for each characterAnd how to draw each character practice sheetsAll in all, I'm pleased with my purchase.

This is a lovely book designed to help learners of Japanese begin to navigate how to read and write the first Japanese alphabet, Hiragana. It has a lovely design with nice, big practice squares including detailed stroke-order instructions for every Hiragana character. The word-searches for each character are a great way to learn how to recognise each character in real words. There are also online resources available as well. I highly recommend this book!
