Replace the whole pump not just the cartridge if your pump is the old brand that Johnson now owns.
Replacement pump that is easy to install. Before replacing the entire pump I just replaced the cartridge in the old Mayfair housing. then I realized how old and brittle the old housing has become with years of use. When replacing just the cartridge the safety lock tab just snapped off in my hand.I'll just replace the entire pump next time rather than risk failure from old brittle plastic safety tab.

Power pump.
I used this for a bail tank pump on my kayak. Works great even in the harsh elements of the ocean water. It’s exposed and gets wet. Have had no problem with it yet. Been running it about 6 months now.

After 6 months motor keeps coming loose great price fast shipping
Pump worked for 6 months. Twist in motor will not lock in place and stays loose and will not work. I switched to this brand because of good ratings and can be easily replaced. This motor can't be replaced because the piece that hold it in is broke or gone. This pump should last me 5 years like the other brand but did not hold up. Twist in pumps did not work out for me
