Bought yesterday and came the next day through prime service.I wanted a brown leather pencil case that I could take around with me on the go and to university and would hold the essentials. So my review is based with this in mind.1) The colour is a dark brown. Some might say deep chocolate with a deep rich colour. Shiny to look and touch. I have the retro look a5 Filofax and brown iPad Air 2 case and it is a lot darker than those.2) the zip is very Chucky and first impressions are it looks like it will last. The zip and the shape of the pencil case reminds me of a friend's Jack Will pencil case. The stitching looks good and I have no concerns that this pencil case won't last long.3) it does not smell. I know with some other 'real leather' items there tends to be a smell associated with it. This doesn't surprising no smell. Inside there is no lining (which I like) it's just the soft 'unfinished' side of the material.3) capacity. It holds (with a bit of Tetris style moving around) four 'Stabilo boss' original highlights two bic pens and a small ruler. It could not fit in anymore. Also, I tried to put in a brand new pencil with a rubber end but it was just too long. However it was able to get in what I needed so I'm pleased.

A little small, needs to be a little longer, nice leather though.

You don’t always want to carry the full range of 101 colours and styles, but just the essentials.Its unlined, that's a personal preference, I’m happy either way.
