Book helps to declutter stuff and own less!!
Thank you so much for this book. Although I am normally an organised person I still bought this book because I wanted to 'own less stuff' so that I can spend more time with family and less organizing and moving things around.I just started reading it but I must point out that all the chapters are clearly layed out. I am decluttering my house and it's all starting to feel amazing. I am looking forward to declutter my entire house now(one section at a time)! So excited!!!

... and I think the priorities he sets out are great. It was good
I really admire this guy and his family and I think the priorities he sets out are great. It was good, but would have benefited from more detail and it was quite short. I loved his wisdom especially on the last chapter about planning for the future. Living on one income so one of you can give up their job to care for children if you have them. I would take it a step further and say that is a great idea for any couple to do. It would free either of you up to do volunteer work or take a sabbatical or have a year off to explore other options. Living off just one salary is hard, but doable and great advice for any couple. Although obviously it is a luxury that single parents and singles can't afford.

Loved it
This my second Joshua Becker book. I love how he writes it very calming and simple. This book is good for thinking about minimalism and why, not just in your home but in your thinking too. His book the minimalist home is great for actually taking you through the process if you want to do it.

Simple suggestions and great read
This book begins quite practically and offers step by step methods of de-cluttering. Then it focuses on mind-setting and the “why” behind our clutter mentality. Living minimally was initially hard work but once we made it more of a habit it has provided good returns and taken away a lot of stress. This is especially true in a tiny flat in central London with two young children. Our kids have fewer toys and are much more able to push through boredom, plus we clean up less! Win. Becker is very balanced. Worth the read!

challenge your assumptions about how consumerism affects your family
Digital clutter, physical clutter, life clutter - it's all dealt with in this book. It's made me re-evaluate what and how I bring stuff into my home and why. I have always been very clear about minimal screen time but it was good to read someone else experiences cranky agitated children once they've watched too much TV. A great starter book for clearing up your home and living a simpler life.

Easy to read, but promotes saving money then more entrepreneur ways to have money
I like to book, and it's easy to read. I like blog and previous books. I had a feeling that it was too much about saving money, not enjoying life - through travel, and being able to help other people ect. Also staying at home with kids idea does not appeal to me. It's so not ok, when you have aspiration for doing more then cleaning and looking after kids. You can always balance things out, if you have an entrepreneur mind. Like writing this book, earning from royalties, running a company ect. Money is always needed. To provide a better education for kids, to help parents, to travel.

Not quite what I expected
This wasn’t quite what I’d expected – I was hoping for a more practical step-by-step guide to decluttering, a sort of “KonMari with kids” – but it was an easy-to-read overview of minimalism as a whole with some focus on families with children. Is it really even possible to be clutter-free with kids? You might need a bit of an extra push to actually get started on the toy cull, but at least you’ll know why it’s a good idea.

Inspiring
Reading this over the Christmas period as thoughts turn to a new year. It’s thought-provoking and encouraging and it’s always brilliant to get ideas straight from the people who have walked the walk. Read if you’re considering reducing your possessions and you have children - it will give you the focus to get on with it.
