Dangerously imprecise
The thermometer has two ways to measure temperature: by placing it against a person's forehead or, when the top attachment is removed, into the ear. The forehead method yields temperatures that may be a few degrees lower than the actual body temperature, but are consistent enough so that you can compare it against another person who does not run high temperature. The in-ear method works till about 38 degrees Celsius; then it explodes to alarmist areas. At 39 degrees (as measured by a medical-grade in-ear thermometer), this thermometer showed 40 degrees and at 39.5 it showed 41.1 degrees. This caused a great deal of stress and a needless calling of an ambulance. Do yourself a favor, go to your doctor, find out which thermometer they use and get the same.

Unreliable product
These thermometers are not reliable and can be dangerous as readings are misleading which can affect patient care if you are not careful. I have double checked with tympanic thermometers and noticed a huge difference ocassionally.
