Safe, Efficient, and Easy to Use!
The Good Cook Can Opener is hands down the best manual can opener I’ve ever used! I was a bit skeptical at first, but after using it, I can honestly say it’s a game-changer in the kitchen. The Safe Cut technology is a total win—there are absolutely no sharp edges on the cans after opening them. This is a huge relief, especially when dealing with canned goods around kids or pets. You don't have to worry about cutting yourself on jagged edges, which makes this can opener a lot safer than others I’ve used in the past. The ergonomic black handles are super comfortable and easy to grip, which makes the whole process smooth and efficient. I also love how smoothly it turns—the mechanism feels sturdy and never jams, even on tough cans. It’s very easy to operate, and I can open cans with minimal effort.Another great feature is how compact and sleek it is—fits perfectly in my kitchen drawer without taking up too much space. It’s well-built and feels durable, like it’s going to last for years.Overall, I’m really impressed with how effective and safe this can opener is. If you’re tired of dealing with old, unreliable can openers, do yourself a favor and get this one. It’s affordable, functional, and makes opening cans a breeze!

It's good at what it does
Honestly, this is a really good can opener. I bought one 12 years ago, and it was still working great until I slammed the drawer it was in too hard, and its handle was blocking the complete closure. This is a replacement that I hope to have for 12 more years. When I compared my original model to this one, there were changes made to the manufacturing process (specific to the crank handle) that have me wondering if it will last as long. The size fits my hands well. I don't know if it would be good for someone with arthritic hands, as the twisting motion might be a bit much.

No more blade wounds
Would buy again, and again, and again. I didn't think about this until an accident with a tin that left me with a deep gash in my finger from a conventional tin opener not working anymore. Someone then recommended the safety version, and this was highly rated. It opens all sizes of tins, smooth as butter. The lid comes off seamlessly (you can even reuse it), and no more bloody fingers! Place it on top of the tin. Go either way and make a full circle around the top. Then back it up a centimetre, and the opener comes right off.

Easy to use and definitely gets rid of sharp edges.
What a great can opener. NO sharp edges! Easy to use too. It is sturdy, I have dropped it at least 3 times on a tile floor and it still looks perfect. Overall it does a great job on most cans, but there are a couple I have had issues with. both were cat food cans and not made in a standard way. Thankfully both were pop tops. I prefer to use this can opener over the tabbed ones because of the clean edge. My cats try to get into the open cans before I get the food out and I always worry they will cut themselves on the edges. This takes a few seconds longer but it is safe for them.

Worth it!
Amazingly simple looking but very effective. Leaves smooth edges. Top can be reused as a cover

Leaves a clean smooth edge; No sharp edges
Works Great - leaves a clean smooth edge; No sharp edges. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but once you get the 'feel' of where & how to attach this can opener to the can, it is smooth sailing. It fits my hand perfect and has a good grip. I've only had it for a couple of months, so I can't speak to it's durability over time, but right now I'm loving it!

Be sure to lift the lid off- I thought it wasn’t working at first!
I thought that it wasn’t working at first - I turned the opener around the can and then my mistake was pushing into the center of the can lid, and it looked like it hadn’t worked. Then I watched a YouTube video and realized I needed to LIFT OFF the can lid, and it had worked! I like that it is less bulky also, and takes up less space in our drawer. Neat little gadget. Oh, and another thing to remember, the side ring on the can opener needs to be touching the can for the opener to take hold. When it has gone all the way around the can, you’ll feel it get looser.

This is the one I was looking for.
Been through several can openers like Oxo and KitchenAid, but they were a struggle for my wife to use and I hated how they rusted. This can opener is smaller (fits easily in a drawer!), easier to use (less force required, even opens huge freeze dried fruit and tomato cans with ease), opens around the side (no sharp edges is important with three kids), and doesn't come into contact with the can contents (frequently no cleanup, and no rusting).I suppose the only trick to it is that I pop the lid off with the opener still attached by rotating the opener over the can, then release the lid with the slightest amount of backwards turn. Easy peasy.
