Well designed, well made, easy to install, works smoothly. Easy to align both halves - just make sure the U bolts on both halves align. Also, don't forget, the non-hinged half 'wraps' around the tubular gate. The specs in the ad were right on. No need for a cane to keep gate halves together as stated. I like the latch design. It is very strong with good quality material.The installation should be easy with provided U shape bolts, nuts, and washers. However, when installing the latch, I found that the kit was missing 4 sets of nuts and washers. I contacted the seller. The response time was fast from the seller. A replacement was sent to me the next day.Unfortunately, the new kit still missing 4 sets of washers (see attached picture).This could be a perfect gate latch if they could improve the packaging QA.

About a couple years ago I installed a chain link fence gate and the last that came with it. It just seemed not to latch all the time. And slowly moved away from the post that it was to connect with. I definitely need something a lot more secure and something that I can trust. Because we have 5 dogs. And I want to make sure that they never get out or nothing can ever get in their area. I came across this chain link residential strong arm double gate latch. All that stuff said sounds like a great thing to have and something secure. It was very easily to install as it comes with multiple. Not just one multiple U clamps where 1 can go around a round post on your you're gay and in 1 the other side that can be on your post when it is closed and it is latched. There's actually flanges out on both sides. So when as it comes down, there is no Pole away from the post like it was dawn and again. That security once it is down, it is down. Also, there are actually matching holes above where you could secure it with a lock or just run bolts through them. For temporary security so that the latch couldn't possibly just be lifted either by accident. Or if your dogs are big enough to get up but again I. If you used a walk a secure lock, it can be secured that no one can open that gate. Maybe when you are on vacation or not. But this is a very strong durable latch for any of the kind of swing gates that you have and again if it's a round post if it's not a round post would I like about this is that the feature is has the 4 holes where the U clamps would be in there but you. Could actually just use bolts that you can screw into a wood post and will work just as well. And vice versa on the other last part if it is would. So I could really see myself using this on other gates. Now that I've seen how well it works. So I highly recommend this product if you were concerned about either having animals like myself or if you have little ones running around in a fenced in area that you want to make sure that you have a sense of security that they will be safe!

I have had this gate latch for a while and was finally able to install it on some new swinging gates for our pasture land which I recently replaced. It's a great latch. Definitely an upgrade from our old standard fork gate latch. This was very easy to install and it's super sturdy once all the pieces are tightened properly. I love the double latch design. It makes me more confident the gates will remain closed.

It’s leaves a large gap in between the 2 gates and allows the gates to separate then stops where the handles are bent on the ends , The bends are what stops the gates from opening , But leaves a gap to where if you have dogs they would be able to get through if they tried , If it locked in place it would have worked fine , But the bends are only the thing that holds it , back to the drop Rod

This is fantastic for securing a strong latch.My only issue was with my gate itself. My gate is a little crooked. That affected the alignment.So be sure that your measurements are right for the size of pipe and spacing. But also check to see that the post and gate have good alignment at the latch point.

This product is made way better than many latches on the market. This was the perfect solution for a customer that was keeping his double gates closed with 2 drop bolts. The only reason that I took a star off is because the u bolts need to be longer and for the price it should include 2 sets one longer and one for 1 3/8" gate. I had to go to my local hardware store and purchase longer u bolts,nuts, and lock washers.
