How do you switch off the ir leds in daytime?

The camera has a built-in sensor that measures the ambient light levels and automatically turns off the LEDs in daylight. You can adjust the sensitivity of the sensor by using a very small screwdriver on a tiny potentiometer on the camera, but it is very delicate and breaks easily! You can't turn the LEDs off on command without adding extra circuitry.

How close will this camera focus? looking for 12-15cm from subject.

It can be adjusted manually. From 13-15cm.

Can this be used with a pi Zero W?

Yes it can but it needs a camera cable for the pi zero

Can the ir leds sensors be adjusted? the leds are switching on when the camera is still functioning properly in daylight mode.

Yes - though it is not very accurate. There are variable resistors beside the LEDs - look for the small cross-head screws. Rotate these to adjust the sensitivity.
